  6. He (Reaves) like so many so called tough guys does not belong in the NHL. He is not a good enough hockey player…. we all know why he is there and it is for such lame brain activity as the assault on Nurse.
    The NHL still needs to change and move forward to a game that we can actually call hockey a sport.

  7. Keep your head up. He was puck watching 👀 instead of scanning the ice pad. You're taught to keep your head up from pee wee hockey. That's why you keep your head up, so you don't get whacked. No suspension required. Peace ✌️ 😎.

  8. They should send that clip to minor hockey. Teach why its important to keep your head up and not just say it in passing. Teach it and show the results. Peace ✌️ 😎. The game hasn't changed it's mens hockey. So pay attention at all times.

  9. Why there is no " Intent to injure " rule is beyond comprehension.
    Eve if you make an attempt to injure another player you should be suspended.
    Bettman is only worried about rating and corporate advertising or there would also be more Canadian NHL teams.
    I can't wait until he is gone.

  11. To people saying the hit was Ok, you didn't play hockey at all in your life. The hit was completely unnessesary. It's the intention here that is cleary to injure. I love hockey, I love to play it but hits like that, especially in the professionnal league is unacceptable.

  16. The hit to me looked like coincidental, Nurse has his head down , and the Nurses head hit the shoulder of Reaves .
    Reaves did not drive the should up or leaped up he did follow through with the check .
    No malice or intent to injure .

  19. For all those saying this or that , Nurse had his head down ! When Nurse came around the net his head was down. Now Reaves did not drive up left or leap up to hit Nurse, Reaves did skate up to and through the hit .
    Maybe just maybe they should teach hitting and how to take a hit once kids reach pee wee ! Maybe just maybe once players reach Jr they should have a refresher course!
    And maybe just maybe for all fans that wanted pond hockey style of hockey want to actually watch the high sticking slashing and deliberate hits with elbow bads , by players that are bigger faster but don't like getting hit ! Who try to duck under hits or turn their backs deliberately and risk serious injury to them selves and the player delivering the hits.
    Did I mention slew foots?

    Today's fans would cringe watching hockey 30 to 40 years ago when players wore no helmets ! No facs protects! Their equipment wasn't made of stiff plastics ! Players like Scott Steven's Wendel Hunters Semenko Neely Gillies Gainey Roberston Langeay and others played the game of hockey hard and physical.
    Today's game faster swifter with very talented skill players but shy away from the physical style of the game

  20. Nurse playing hockey with his head down! You have to defend yourself at all times.
    That being said Reeves took a long run at Nurse, then lifted his shoulder into Nurse as contact was made in a contact sport.
    Reeves’ has a history of throwing this kind of check and causing injuries, so the NHL should be increasing Reeves’ punishment.
    Sad to see this kind of stupidity.

I dont know why people are getting pissed with the leafs or the fans, the leafs did nothing wrong accept for that scumbag reaves, what exactly do you expect the leafs to do? and the fans booing i mean they could have been booing reaves for being a douchebag, it's not illegal to boo your own players, i was booing reaves all night because he's garbage, but let's not act like the leafs organization is the only one to act like this, i remember pens fans booing bishop years ago when he got hurt, it's not just a leafs fans thing lol, I do hope Nurse will be ok though.

  31. Leaf's won't miss Reaves. Only way the Leaf's would be hurt is if Reaves was forced to play 20 minutes per game and the probability of that is zero. A suspension to Reaves however long it is means nothing to the Leafs.

  36. All you non hockey fans chiming in here, say what you want about Reaves. Every team in the East has one. He is tough hits hard but isnt a dirty goon. He made a mistake here, will be suspended but unfortunate he got Nurse up high. Hope he is ok. Certainly not Reaves intention to hurt Nurse. Leafs want Nurse on the ice, not in the room!!
