My mom passed after a Steelers v Dolphins win 6 years ago tomorrow.

She was a nurse in the Pittsburgh area for decades.

I inherited her Pittsburgh wardrobe and nearly every pic I have of her, she is wearing black n gold.

Her last trip was to visit Pittsburgh (after she retired to Texas) and she saw Steelers v. Ravens.

Her memorial was a prolonged Terrible Towel wave.

Her name was Gigi and she was an amazing mom, friend, nurse and grandma.

Wave a Towel in memory of a Steeler fan, who raised me to watch every single game since birth, who watches every game from Texas. Thank you!

  1. How beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us, OP.

Love and prayers to you both!

    Rest in paradise, Gigi! 🖤💛

  2. There’s a local beer here called Gigi, and it’s one of my favorites. I’m going to crush some for your mom. My condolences. Her smile is infectious.

  3. My mom made me a Steelers fan. I grew up in the 70s sitting on the couch with my mom watching those great Steeler teams.

My mom is gone too, and today I’ll wave my towel for both of our moms. For Gigi and Mary Lou.

  4. Your mom seems like she was an absolutely wonderful human being (so do you!) 💛🖤 and I hope you can always find comfort and peace in looking back on fond memories you have with her 🖤💛 Sending you lots of love, GO STEELERS!

  5. Im watching the game on my couch by myself but I’m going to go get my terrible towel just for you and moms

  6. This is the most Pittsburgh woman I have ever seen. I think I know like 20 people just like her. Apologies for your loss!

  7. My mom passed 3 months ago. She wasn’t a big sports fan, but she was a Steelers fan and would watch them whenever she could. So I’ll wave my towel for both our moms today!

  8. I like to believe she pushed one of the Tucker field goals wide. May memories of her always be a blessing ❤️
