Jeff screwed us with the draft
If we generated more free throws, shot better, fouled less, defended more, and if Ty Jerome didn’t exist, then we would have won.
Against a team vs Mobley and Allen, we play our only center who’s been playing well lately only 11 minutes. Just comical
Watching Thor just completely big-boy Salaun at the end there puts it into perspective… this roster is just so so far off the top of the league
No hope for the season if Brandon continues to play like this🤦♂️
Another Miller stinker. His pre-draft weakness where he struggles to get to the rim is definitely still true
Funny how JT Thor (guy we gave up on and at end of Cavs bench) scored on Salaun and locked him up at the end
Moussa played less than 12 minutes. Explain that choice to me.
We have to start to take Defense and make it a priority. We have player who can play defense, we lack the anchor in the middle to help.
I mean, there’s a reason why the Cavs are 15-0. Good job keeping it competitive, but we just don’t have the defense nor a consistent enough offense to stay with them for 48.
Josh Green with a good game since his birthday yesterday. Let’s keep that going please.
Scheduled loss that we almost coulda won if we didn’t go cold in the 4th oh well
Good things: Micic playing well, Lamelo keeping up his averages, Grant Williams playing well
Bad things: Lamelo and Brandon Miller missing too much, size in the paint, Cody Martin always being too hesitant to shoot, our shooting whenever the Cavs played bad basketball. We only played well when THEY scored at every possesion
Charles Lee chose the wrong time to inject Ozempic into the lineup we needed more Diabete :/
And the bills fucked up our chance to ruin the Chiefs win streak too.
Donovan Mitchell took night off for rest, which is what Mark Williams has been doing for the last year.
At what point should we have the conversation around Miller and Melo shot selection and shooting percentages?
I love LaMelo as much as the next guy, but come on some of those shots he does not need to be taking. Like it’s just haymakers. I’m not even saying he’s a bad shooter because if he took the same amount of shots but higher quality his percentages would be much higher. He just needs to tone down the shots that he has no business taking.
Lee needs to do better, the offensive scheme right now is basically just chuck threes and hope for the best. On top of that Moussa getting less minutes tonight than Micic and Tidjane is straight up basketball terrorism.
Also the death of Brandon’s midrange game needs to be studied, dude looks like a shell of himself from last year.
Couldn’t watch this one, why was Diabaté’s usage so low
Pretty insane stat: we attempted 103 FG, Cleveland attempted 77. But Cleveland made 44 FG while we made 42. That along with free throws pretty much tells the story
I get Lee wants to shoot more threes but the whole team, starting with LaMelo, needs to refine their shot selection. Some of those threes in the fourth made me vomit in my mouth.
It could’ve been worse. LaMelo, Miles, Josh Green…. And surprisingly Micić…. Looked pretty good tonight.
Also, we really need B Miller needs to get his shit straight….
Brandon needs to box out. Multiple times this game he was caught lacking
Nothing says hornets ball like getting outscored a point a minute in the 4th.
I want LaMelo to take better shots. At certain points you could feel him pressing and it just led to bad threes and headlong drives to the basket. This team really needs to get healthy (Mark Williams please stop making us weep in despair) but LaMelo also gotta make it easier on himself and his teammates. He gets too spun up trying to overcompensate and it’s doing more harm than good. We haven’t seen him have a good game and the team needs AND Brandon Miller all have a good game at the same time.
More Diabate less Salaun.
Lamelo has got to do better than 11-29
overall i really like the potential this team has. if we can get mark back that would be huge because it seemed like a lot of our problems stemmed from not having a true/truly good center. lots of blown assignments leading to points for the cavs. the shooting was streaky. i feel like if we could just stay healthy and tweak some defensive woes this team could be pretty damn good.
Keep enjoying that season long court-side seat plus deluxe travel accommodations, Mark. Must be a great experience.
Micić actually did something
