Nine years ago, December 11, 2015, the Celtics came within a breath of ending the longest season-opening win streak in NBA history, losing to the new NBA Champion Warriors (24-0) in double overtime.

Tuesday night, they'll get another chance.

Cavs beat Charlotte to go to 15-0.

  1. They might. They also might not.

Either way, I’m not going to overreact to a game in mid November.

Ok I will overreact a little.

  2. Recent form says no, but won’t be surprised either if the Celtics have just been fucking around with the easg schedule and turns it up against real teams.

  3. We’re a tough matchup for them. Been watching them and they’re good but I think their defense is gonna struggle with our size on perimeter. Their bigs are gonna have to win their matchups pretty decisively if they want to create enough good looks vs our switching.

Just a lot of easy targets for Tatum and Brown. Cavs will have to decide if they live with smaller defenders in one on one coverage or bringing two vs mismatches. I don’t think they have the personnel.

  4. Game is going to be nuts. Best game of the season so far and everyone worth watching will be. Go Cavs. Hope u fuckers lose.

  5. Ehhh. My heart says we end it here, but my gut says this has “2nd round revenge game” written all over it

We play them twice in the next couple weeks though, and I’d be pretty shocked if we don’t at least split the pair

  6. Cleveland will be double motivated–extend streak and beat champs, so I expect one of our most competitive regular season games.

  7. Our play of late has not been stellar.

    Needing OT to beat Brooklyn.

    Losing to Atlanta.

    Needing OT to beat Toronto.

No I don’t think we are beating the Cavs, especially if Jrue is not there to take either Garland or Mitchell.

  8. Good thing is they’re going to have all the pressure because they’re unbeaten and facing the defending champs

  9. No, most likely not. Not unless we somehow play absolutely out of our minds compared to what we’ve been doing recently. Or cavs decide to take a breather for some reason.

  10. If I remember correctly, that was near the end of a grueling road trip for the Warriors and the first game of a B2B, they lost to the Bucks the next night – I like to think the C’s contributed to that loss.

  11. Our last 6 games have been :

The 2-12 raptors taking us to OT

Beating the 5-7 nets pretty well

Losing to the 5-7 Hawks *without* 3 of their starters

Beating the 2-8 bucks by 6 after a big comeback

Beating the 4-5 nets in OT

    Losing to the warriors.

We have had an easy stretch and (yes, we’ve been mostly winning) having a hard time doing it.

I think the cavs will whoop the piss out of us. *however*, that’ll be cause we’ve gotten complacent and coasted lately. I think the beatdown will light a fire and the Celtics will turn it up.

  12. They don’t look like last years team, even last years team without KP right now. They’re still getting to that point. This game either way isn’t the end all be all so if they lose regardless of amount it means nothing.

  13. This will be a statement win by 20+. Celtics have been coasting so far. They’re going to turn it up to remind everyone of who they are, and then go back to coasting until the next big matchup. That’s just how it’s going to be this season. Also, no Dean Wade or Max Strus, known Celtics killers.

  14. This game reminds me of the 08 Celts vs Rockets, who were riding a 22 game win streak. Great streak, no doubt. But that Celtics team spanked them. All due respect, if Celts play their best, the same will happen here. I don’t think their last 3 games have been their best though. Could be close.

  15. If we can’t stop other teams from offensive rebounds, we can’t expect to beat good teams. The bad ones are making us work. Time to step it up boys
