Rafael Nadal is bowing out of professional tennis this month and when Spain’s participation in the Davis Cup comes to an end, it will be an extremely sad time.

The Spanish sensation has devoted his life to tennis and will bow out with a whopping 22 Grand Slam titles to his name.

Roland Garros has bought out the best in Nadal with 14 of his 22 majors coming on the clay in Paris.

His all-action style on the court has left fans speechless at times with his all-action and energetic style the one thing that fans have grown to love about him.

Carlos Alcaraz is determined to do well for Spain at the Davis Cup to try and send Nadal into the sunset with another title for his collection.

Nadal goes down as one of the all-time greats of professional tennis and his retirement leaves just Novak Djokovic still playing on the tour.

With the Mallorca native set to bow out, his peers sat down to describe Nadal in three words in a warm piece knocked out by the ATP Tour.

First up was Frances Tiafoe and he picked three very fitting words to sum up the legendary player.

Tiafoe said on X: “Fierce, energetic, pitbull.

Andy Murray enjoyed many a slog with Nadal on the grandest of stages and he was a little tongue-tied when asked to pick three words – wasting one of them on ‘Spanish’.

Murray opted for: “Competitive, Spanish, fighter.”

Nadal is far and away the best player to ever grace Roland Garros and his 14 titles has seen him destroy his rivals.

Max Decugis is second on the list with eight titles, whilst Bjorn Borg sits third with six titles.

Winning any competition 14 times is not to be sniffed at and it would be no surprise to see something named after Nadal at Roland Garros.

It’s quite remarkable what he’s achieved across his career but it will be producing the goods on the clay that he will be remembered for the most.

Nadal is a true hero of modern-day tennis and every single natural will be hoping that Spain can win the Davis Cup and give him the send-off his career truly deserves.
