1. Lalonde is a downgrade from Blashill. I said this when he was hired.

2. Yeah unfortunately this guys defensive style of play doesn’t suite the style of players this team has. He’s definitely not getting the most out of his guys. I think he lost the locker room.

3. Something is wrong with this team because we shouldn’t be worse than we were last year but we are. We need a coach change because getting outshot as bad as we’ve been has got to stop. 10-15 shots in a game is pathetic.

4. I am embarrassed for this team. Starting to seem like management can’t make tough decisions. How is the coach still around? Steve’s plan is up in flames

5. Yeah, I always try to be optimistic on these videos… but there’s none of that after this weekend. It was embarrassing. I do think it’s time to get rid of lalonde at this point. I thought a step back this year was possible, but this looks like an entirely different team. They play scared and cling to leads praying not to lose. That won’t get you very far in this league

6. Dump Yzerman and Lalonde; they don’t know what they’re doing.

7. Without exaggeration maybe toward the top 5 worst coaches in 48 years of following Detroit sports. Not as bad as Ausmus, Rogers (Lions), and Williams (number 1) but not far behind. Zero in game adjustments, zero control of the locker room, zero emotion….I remember simp fans defending Ausmus when it was obvious he was killing several WS; LORW defended this guy when it was obvious he was not head coach material for 2 years. Little late guys

8. Our 5 on 5 play is terrible and our PK is brutal. PP is doing fine. We down almost down a goal a game from last year. Goals against pretty much the same. There is no passion and there seems to be a chemistry problem.

9. If that was Husso against the ducks there would be people all over trashing him but Lyon got off pretty easy for that stinker.

10. This is the first time since we were worst in the league that I’m not excited for this team.

11. LaLonde has an inspirational value of "road kill". Talbot is the only goalie who has done anything. Nice job Stevarino. You as a GM are way over your head.

12. I love how refs whistle play dead for the Anaheim payer losing their skate blade, but the very next game no whistle for the wings player when the exact same thing happened. Things like that show clearly how inconsistent they are, and how little they communicate. What a joke of a NHL system.

The development of our young guys is still the highest priority so I'm not going to be too upset about losses, missing the playoffs etc. However, Lalonde is more willing to healthy scratch a young forward who misses defensive assignments than an actual defender playing bad defense. It sends the wrong message to the guys and I believe it's one of the reasons the team has no winner mentality which is problem now and will hurt the team long term as well.

16. This all falls on who owns the team. Look no further than the hat, the lions were trash because the old man ford was a terrible owner who allowed nepotism to dictate his decisions, he wanted to be friends with his employees and not accountable to the fans. The reason the lions have turned things around is because to her credit, sheila sought out help and made decisions not based on being friends with her employees. The reason the wings were so good in their heyday is because old man illitch was the same way. Chris illitch hired yzerman because he was friends with the organization, yzerman hired llonde because he was one of his guys in tampa, they singed guys who lalonde knew who dont belong there and who aren't good enough. What i as a fan failed to acknowledge is that yzerman didnt build that cup team in tampa, he made draft picks that added to their superstars and pushed them over the edge. Yzermannis great at drafts, he's terrible at the cap, he's terrible at free agent signings that hes overpaid for, and he has no clue how to build a team that has one superstar but no goalie and no depth at d. Unfortunately we're not getting a better owner which means yzerman will continue to run this team for the foreseeable future and they will be in rebuild for god knows how much longer. Anyone with any common sense can see this is what the problem is, but unfortunately the fans will not hold yzerman accountable because of his legacy, but give another year or two of this garbage and steve will tarnish his legacy, and frankly id rather see him fired right now then see that happen to one of the greatest players in redwing history. If this continues, larkin will waive his no trade and beg to be traded, and all the fans who say he is just a number two center will find out real fast how much worse this team is gonna be without him. The redwings have become the S.O.L. of hockey, and I never thought id see this.

17. Chariot and Petry cannot continue to get ice time for this team if we are ever going to win. period. Olli Maata is doing just fine in Utah playing over 20 minutes a night with a positive plus/minus against a difficult schedule playing 57% defensive zone starts. He was just fine 2 years ago when our 2nd line was one of the best lines in hockey with Hronek. so YES Brian he CAN play "unsheltered" minutes. I like the 3rd round pick (but it doesn't matter if you cant find NHL starters in the 3rd round and we haven't yet in 6 drafts). In order to sit Petry and Chariot we need other NHL defensemen to fill in. Trading away Maata does not help this. Lalonde is allegic to Holl even though he's our 3rd best defenseman and Johansson needs to play EVERY night. He's been just fine for us on defense. I love Fisher. Love Rasmussen. Was hopeful for Veleno but Veleno and Fisher cannot play on a line together. You cannot have a line that has absolutely no potential to ever provide any sort of offense threat to the other team. We need at least 2 more NHL caliber forwards that can at least occasionally provide some offense. This team is an entire forward line short and an entire 2nd pairing on the blue-line short of being a quality hockey team. there have been plenty of players available in free agency and cheap trades the last 3 years for reasonable contracts that we should be a playoff team this year. the front office has failed in this regard and unless Lalonde has marching orders from the front office WHO to play, he doesn't adequately recognize who should and who should not be playing on a given night. Regardless this team lacks talented depth. it has a lot of holes to fill at the trade deadline; and it will probably be too expensive to make the moves we need. The team has become unwatchable, because they are too easy to match up against. Larkin/Debrincat/Raymond are being outplayed by the other teams front lines (maybe because our second line defensive pair is so terrible in part). Just not a good look 6 years into the rebuild. This front office will need to make the right moves in free agency and trading away the remaining bums next offseason for the Red Wings to take the next step. How far away are Buium and Tuomisto? Can we anticipate ANY relief at all this year on the blueline? If not or if Lalonde isn't fired or refuses to bench Chariot, this season is over 1/4 of the way in. not good.

18. All you have to do to prove that analytics don't really apply to hockey is shown with the following two words ==> RED WINGS." Lalonde has said all season that the analytics are pretty good. That should tell you all you need to know. " WRONG !!! This team hasn't passed the smell test, or the eye test ALL season (plus most of last last season). Hire Quenneville IMMEDIATELY, so the guys that are left can be educated on how to properly play in the NHL; and help the new people who step in next year ! NOTE- A gift horse only comes along every so often. Joel Quenneville will be swooped up soon. If this team continues to under perform NEXT season I believe S.Y. will seal his own fate ! FORTUNATELY for him, however, he really just needs to straighten this ship out NOW , by obtaining a COACH who is a PROVEN WINNER ! Enough is enough !!! Get it done…..make this team respectable. There current play is atrocious ! No one was expecting miracles for crying out loud. Most importantly, NO more head coaches that are learning on the fly. This team needs a leader and structure. Scotty Bowman taught Steve Yzerman how to be a winner….HE said it himself ! Don't the guys on this team deserve the same kind help ???
