CLEVELAND BROWNS VS. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS INSTANT REACTION

The Cleveland Browns needed a win to keep their incredibly slim chances of making the playoffs alive.

Through the first 30 minutes of the game against the Saints, Derek Carr, Taysom Hill and Alvin Kamara dominated most of the action.

Denzel Ward did have an interception and a forced fumble in the first half.

Jameis Winston connected with Jerry Jeudy on an 89 yard touchdown pass for the Browns lone TD of the half.

The phrase they say in New Orleans is “Laissez les bons temps rouler.” Translated from the Louisiana French-Creole, it basically means “Let the good times roll.”

The Browns haven’t had many good times over the first nine games of the season. Really, just two, their only two wins, which came a month apart.

Cleveland (2-7) will look to a trip to one of the United States’ biggest party cities to get the party started over the final eight games of the season. They’ll do so against the Saints, who snapped a seven-game losing streak of their own last week against the Atlanta Falcons to improve to 3-7, but 1-0 under interim head coach Darren Rizzi.

So, who’ll let the good time roll?

Here’s how the three writers who follow the Browns for us, Chris Easterling, Nate Ulrich and Dan Kadar, view the team’s Week 11 road game.

Browns vs. Saints prediction: Who wins in NFL Week 11 Sunday afternoon?
EASTERLING: This game has all sorts of storylines that would’ve made it a great, intriguing matchup had it been 7-2 against 7-3. Instead, it’s the opposite. Still, Jameis Winston’s return to New Orleans could be a spectacular success for Cleveland. Or, it could turn into a spectacular disaster. It’s the kind of gamble suitable for one of the riverboat casino cruising down the Mississippi River. Here’s making the bet it comes up Cleveland’s way. BROWNS 24, SAINTS 17

  1. It was nice to relax on a Sunday and watch a good football game. That's why I watched Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and then KC and Buffalo.
    ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…

  2. Mayfield made us relevant. He took the worst team in the NFL to the playoffs and won a playoff game in three years. Gets severely injured and Stefanski mismanages the situation and Berry and Depodesta think theyโ€™re the smartest people in the NFL and dismantle it all. Those three MUST BE FIRED AND HELD ACCOUNTABLE for their incompetence and for making the Browns the laughing stock of the NFL once again.

  3. "You need a dissenting opinion." Oh really? Well, you guys had Trey Wingo on during training camp and he said straight out there was no reason to expect the Browns to be good with Deshaun Watson at quarterback. Fans commenting on that video overwhelmingly ripped him, calling him names, making personal accusations of hating Cleveland, the Browns, etc.

    Now we're here.

  4. Holly crap batman ๐Ÿ˜ณ lost again ๐Ÿ˜Š that is no surprise ๐Ÿ˜‚ the Browns never go to the super bowl game and they let their fans down every season ๐Ÿ˜…

  5. I don't see firing stefanski as a good decision .
Sure it might feel good in the moment when emotions are high, but I still think he was set up to fail with having to play Watson and also with having to fire his OC and hire Dorsey who had a totally different philosophy. By the time Watson finally got out of there due to injury the damage was done and the team was lost. Yeah they won one emotional game after the loss of Jim Donovan, but as a whole the team is checked out because they came in with high hopes and had such a terrible start, there's nothing left but meaningless games to play out

  6. I saw 4 players going 100 DELPIT WARD CHUBB WINSTONโ€ฆI WAS AT THE GAME CHUBB NEVER SAYS MUCHโ€ฆ. When THEY WERE WALKING IN AFTER THE GAME HE HUDDLED THE TEAM AND LIT INTO THEMโ€ฆ

  7. John Dorsey didnโ€™t go by analytics. He went by a players production on the field. He made a statement one time saying if you wanna go buy analytics, it wouldโ€™ve told you to Never draft Barry Sanders in the first round because he split time and had one year as the starter and didnโ€™t have a 40 that blew u away and heโ€™s a Hall of Fame running back.

  8. The truth is the browns are not trying to win. They run a sports entertainment company. The browns are not trying to be competitive and will a championship. The browns have the main ingredient "YOU" rabbit fans that are too loyal. The browns front office gets the most profitable from the minimum investment. That's why they got Watson. Stop buying tickets and see what happens. They would have to change

  9. A few thoughts: 1 – fire Berry & Depodesta, 2 – fire all the coaches, 3 – fire the paid-off 'kicker', 4 – tell FAA we got CAK right down the road for a backup & put the new stadium at Burke – seems obvious –

  10. Weโ€™ve had this product for so long we think mediocrity is top shelf. An โ€œ Averageโ€ team is a playoff origination to us.

  11. We attended the game yesterday and had a great time! Saints fans are awesome, the people are friendly, and the food is delicious! The Browns played poorly. Garrett looks like he had enough. He is sitting at the end of the bench by himself.

  12. Why can every backup QB we play put up 300 or more yards passing and multiple tds, but our 230 million dollar qb never could in 3 years here? Offense looked good, Taysom Hill just whooped the browns entire defense. Running over hicks and delpit.

  13. The issues are with the areas that we have new coaches, on the offensive side of the ball, special teams and Vrabel. Add your $230,000,000 QB that played worse than my kids high school QB. Stefanski gave up play call and it is getting worse. Offense can't score defense gives up. Last year you all were all in luv with Stefanski and Berry and Deshaun. Personally I think it has been Deshaun's play and mental health has been the main reason reason for the collapse this year.
