Welcome to the day after thread where it's time to 'tell the truth' about the game as Pete would say.

What went well?

What went bad?

What should be the focus heading into next season?

Please be respectful of other fans opinions, this thread is intended to be for serious discussion.

Have you tried the Seahawks Discord?

  1. Shout out to Spoon for absolutely blowing up Deebo on that attempted lateral at the end of the game.

Can you imagine if CMC housed it?

  2. What went well? The D had four good quarters. Kept the running game from popping. Would have liked to see a couple of sacks and more pressure. A lot less flags was great as well.

What went bad? DK was pretty quiet for most the game. Still knocking the rust off? Kenny flubbing the kickoff return was a bit of a worry. Why’s he doing returns if Shenault is healthy? Also, didn’t like seeing the Hawks crowding nine on the line for the last punt. Got lucky that there was a Seahawks bounce on that ball that ended up in the endzone.

Focus for next season? Whoa there, bud. THIS season isn’t over yet. Focus on beating the Cards next week.

  3. We’d all be pissed off if we didn’t pull that out instead it’s the Niners fans feeling it.

Failing to get the yard on 3rd and 4th on the second to last drive had me feeling a serious lack of faith in Grubb and Macdonald for not challenging the spot on the Geno sneak.

  4. I know Charbs kinda has some sort of banger role on this offense. But damn I wish we would at least just experiment with what a Walker/Kmac two some would look like. Bc I think that could be a gibbs/montgomery type twosome if they gave it a shot. There is just nothing that makes me less hopeful right now than a hand off to charbs. I mean every handoff to charbs is getting 4 yards, or -1. The ceiling is just so low.

  5. Is it me or should spoon be guarding the left or right side every play like woolen. Seems to be very good like he was in college. I know they like to use him at nickel but dude is legit . I’m not familiar with verbal names with CB but whatever the name of CB that covers either the right or left and not just nickel.

  6. I think having Lucas back definitely helped the OL. I think as he gets back into game shape we could see some improvement in the overall line. Yesterday wasn’t great for the OL. But it wasn’t awful either. Seemed like Abe only played about half the series. Idk, maybe i’m wrong. I mean I know we still didn’t run the ball well. But I can see some progress. I’m usually the biggest Geno apologist but some of the sacks yesterday I’d actually put on Geno. What did you guys think about the OL with Lucas now?

  7. Great last drive win!
J Meyer two very long FG.
    Better D.
O line still sucks but slightly better
High snap again? That’s three games in a row!
Geno INT is exactly the same as previous ones he has to improve in that situation

  8. Week 6 or 7 of “I wish we could have that Giants game back”

Especially now that they’re benching Jones for DeVito over Lock.

  9. The only thing missing from this team is the ability to run the ball. That is a big enough problem to limit the offense to 20 in a game that they should have scored 30. It is still a fatal flaw when everyone knows you can’t get 4 and inches after inexplicably giving the carry to Charbonnet.

    Huge, season-saving win otherwise.

  10. So uh with how bad we were at stopping purdy (a guy not known for his scrambling ability) from running what the fuck are we going to do with kyler(a guy very much known for his scrambling ability)

  11. Our O line and Linebackers looked different! Jones is a beast! So glad we traded for #13

  12. Absolutely stoked about the defense, but the truth people are burying their collective heads in the sand on is the offense. Worst it’s been since 2011 with largely the same weapons as some very strong offenses in previous years.

So far Grubb has not been good, he’s been worse than Waldron but for some reason doesnt get much heat at all. Lockett and DK look worse. Explosive plays which were a calling card are now non existent. Snapping issues are a new game losing problem. Pass blocking is worse. Run game is significantly worse in particular short yardage but larger runs are also down, Charb looks like he’s regressed. Certainly some things are better, but on the whole it’s a statistically worse or at best similar offense with the same players more or less.

The only reason I can think of on why he doesn’t get deserved heat is homerism with him coming from Washington. The good thing is Mike McDonald won’t have that same homerism and so you can bet there will be changes if there isn’t noticeable improvements. Everyone with their head in the sand will be surprised by the changes of course.
