Come back to us

  1. I always chuckle at this sentiment given how so many people were ready to run him out of town on a rail at one point.

  2. For real.

I can’t help but wonder if the insanely tight games we ran were a result of his hard ass style. Really made people practice into the ground, but come game time, it worked.

Hard to *really* complain at 9-1 with two Super Bowls in the past two years, but some of this year’s sloppiness could certainly be cleaned up.

  3. Mahomes mechanics have seemed to regress this year, I wonder if he needs a hard ass like EB riding him? Whatever one might think of EB, he seemed to ride the players hard and got a lot out of him.

  4. I don’t know much about an OC’s breadth of responsibilities but I heard on the broadcast a few games ago that Andy calls the plays. If that is the case then I really would like to know what else Nagy is doing bad that Bienemy was doing well

  5. I never understand why people hate Nagy. The biggest problems in our offense is blocking and turnovers. Mahomes missed on a deep shot to Worthy that would’ve been a difference maker, he threw an ill-advised pass on the first drive that caused a pick, and Mahomes constantly has the pocket collapsing right after he finishes his dropbacks.

Nagy might be responsible for why we went away from Worthy in the 2nd half, and that was a bad decision, but overall the offense is a lot better than it was than 2021, when we still had Tyreek Hill and our offense was still struggling. This year we’ve lost our WR1, WR2 and RB1, and while we did get DHop, he’s still pretty new to the offense and is getting <50% snap count.

And for the record, I don’t think Nagy > EB by a large amount or anything. I think its negligible. But people have complained about EB throughout his entire tenure and then immediately switched it to bitching about Nagy.

  6. Doug is about to be available. If we are bringing back an old OC bring back one that did something on his own since. Looking at you NAGY.

  7. We need to get rid of connor embree. I don’t know if bienemy is the answer but I feel like our play calling has been a little flat since Nagy came back.

  8. Guys, I love EB, will always appreciate him.

Nagy is not the problem on offense. It’s our tackles, and though it’s hard to admit a big portion of that is Pat is not playing well.

If you watch Allen, Lamar, and Burrow and then come back and watch Pat, it’s clear he is not on their level right now. I don’t know if he’s just been so successful that he can only get up for the playoffs, but he’s not playing well and our team is getting carried by the defense. Unfortunately the defense let us down yesterday.

  9. Mahomes has made some questionable decisions with the football. 11 interceptions speaks to that. The offensive line has been subpar as he is constantly running for his life and the receivers are struggling to get open. Improve on that and we should see the offense play better.

  10. Anyone that thinks EB is good at details did not watch a second of any game he was the OC for in Washington.

This is Reid’s offense and always has been.

  11. I don’t think he’s coming back. I could see bringing back Doug Pederson after he gets fired from the Jags.

Would be a familiar face for Andy but a new set of eyes on Mahomes. Could be a decent fresh perspective.

  12. Yes our offensive playcalling has been lackluster. But, we haven’t had consistent continuity all year. Injuries to RB, WR, CB, etc. and we’re fucking 9-1. The amount of people that thought we’d go undefeated is crazy. That’s a pipe dream. That’s why it’s only ever happened ONE TIME. As we were witnessed to last year when a lot of people thought we would be 1 and done in the playoffs or hell not even make the playoffs, the chiefs have a second gear for the post season that 31 other teams don’t have.

  13. Offense is sloppy without him. I’m starting to think he held players on the offense accountable.

  14. Bieniemy was like the guy that sharpens your lawnmower blades.

Does the mower cut grass fine without sharpening? yeah, it does —buuuuuttt.

  15. EB isn’t coming back and would add nothing. The dude wore out his welcome, started fights and conflict with multiple star players (including Mahomes and Kelce), and was basically forced into taking a lateral move to get him out of town. Everyone associated with the Chiefs is too professional to say it but EB was losing the locker room and it was past time to move on. It’s a pretty common story for hard ass coaches in the pro’s, the schtick works for impressionable kids for a few years in college buts wears thin with professionals.

He also does nothing to address the current issues. The run game looks fine. Our issues are WR injury issues and O-Line. EB doesn’t help with those. Him calling Kingsley names and swearing at him isn’t going to fix his confidence. Reid’s extremely detailed in his approach and actually able to relate with players. If there’s a coaching issue it’s potentially with O-Line or WR. Neither EB or Nagy are calling plays in a meaningful way or driving the offensive philosophy, this is Reid’s system and offense through and through.

If we’re bringing back former coordinators, there are a bunch I would take over EB. Kafka would top the list if the Giants blow things up. But even Dougie P would rank far above EB, he works well with players and is a good offensive mind to pair with Reid. If we could somehow get back Nagy, Kafka, and Doug even better, Reid’s at his best with a “think tank” to bounce ideas off of. Also not opposed to starting to develop someone like Chad Henne or Matt Moore if they have interest in coaching, having a newer coach and former player bring in fresh ideas is also something Reid seems to thrive on.

  16. I would definitely take a LT before a coach. Nothing personal. Mahomes is a QB that needs time in The pocket to make miracles.

  17. The one thing I can’t stand about Nagy is how often we seem to love to get cute on 1st and goal, especially when it’s on the 5 or closer, when that should just be a straight handoff every single time. I get that it’s predictable, but you have the best LG, C, RG trio in the NFL and two RBs who are absolute loads to tackle. What were we doing yesterday with that first and goal where Worthy’s in the backfield?

  18. lol at this.

Offense wasn’t the problem yesterday, defense was, specifically 3rd down. We had them on 3rd and long OFTEN and outside of the 3rd quarter couldn’t get off the field. It’s no coincidence that once we finally give up 30 points to someone we lose.
