Lost in all this embarrassing Browns run, MKC reported that JOK has an uphill battle to return to playing football in general again and that really worries me

  1. Hopefully he makes a full recovery 🙏. At least we don’t have to worry about pressing to have him back this year. Shut him down for the season. Rest up JOK!

  2. Just trade Garrett. Dude deserves a ring. JOK is one of the only other bright spots on this team and if he’s done then let’s just ship Myles away and pull the plug on this era.

  3. I’m so confused by this report. Mary Kay has admitted that the team hasn’t said anything and hasn’t commented on whether he will resume activities and she speculates that not only is his season over but also his career? I know there was a post about this earlier this week but it seems drastic that we’re going from discharged from the hospital the next day, walking around the team facility the next day, to IR midweek, Hicks comments, and now career is over. And there’s no updates or reports on what his injury actually is. I think Mary Kay is the most credible reporter in Cleveland but it seems like she is just drawing conclusions

  4. Absolutely devastating.

I wonder why there isn’t much being said about what’s going on. Is that what JOK wants? Or is this the NFLs doing…

  5. Over the course of three weeks, JOK’s injury saga went from “[All is well](https://www.yahoo.com/news/well-browns-lb-jeremiah-owusu-002939420.html)” to “[praying for a miraculous recovery](https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2024/11/one-veteran-browns-lb-praying-for-a-miraculous-recovery-for-jeremiah-owusu-koramoah-from-scary-neck-injury.html)” and “no one has said if he’ll be able to resume his NFL career.”

When he was released from the hospital after one period of overnight observation, I honestly thought he’d be alright. Now I’m not sure what to think.

  6. Thankfully when I see “MKC reported” I know it’s just guesses and promotional content from the team.

  7. Thinking back on his comments where he basically said the guardian cap allowed him to play even more reckless…

  8. Get Well JOK. Sorry this franchise was/is/will forever be the dog shit of professional football.

  9. He was working out at a training facility in my area before the draft. Such a talented football player but he is shockingly small for a linebacker. Hope he recovers fully.

  10. That’s awful news. I have a lot of respect for him for wearing the helmet cover. I checked his career earnings and he’s made $13.8m, so hopefully he can make the decision without factoring money into it.

  11. I’m not worried about him playing again.

I hope he can walk. I hope he can play catch with his kids. I hope he can not be dealing with a life altering injury the rest of his life.

Forget football with this type of stuff.

  12. I have a big issue with her reporting on this. We know he didn’t have surgery and walked out of the hospital the next day. He’s been walking around the facility. She has no updates so she’s decided he has an uphill battle to playing. There’s quite literally zero update and this is being reported as if there is one.

  13. This still reeks of speculation on her part. No one in the know has said anything, she admits. Yet she’s talking about scans and how he might ever return to playing. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s actually in the know, but to then report on it so vaguely and seemingly speculatively is complete bullshit.

  14. I’d say this is pretty reckless speculation. Guy had a pretty scary neck situation in a terrible season. Stayed overnight.

They have no confirmation of anything, so I think it’s bizarre to just say “haven’t confirmed he will resume his NFL career” – have they directly asked this to anyone?

  15. When I said it looked Shazier bad the moment the hit happened people downvoted me. They downvoted me again when Jordan Hicks gave his comments to the press.

JOK not playing another snap in the league is a real possibility. I pray he makes a return but by god being able to use your extremities is so much more valuable than a few extra moments of glory playing football.
