[Cimini] Rather remarkable: Yesterday was the first time in #Jets history that they lost a game in which they scored 25+ pts, had less than 15 penalty yards and committed 0 turnovers.

It’s happened only 5 times in the NFL since 2000. It was the first this season. h/t ESPN Research.

  3. So I get we are historically bad – but when you just create random categories of stats to put together to try and show how bad we are it’s just lazy and stupid.

  7. Lots of fans were complaining about the offense last season saying that they didn’t care what happened to the defense as long as our offense improved. JD and Woody seemed to buy into that approach, now our defense is almost as bad as the 2021 unit. Our CBs have to cover for more than 3 seconds, and suddenly don’t look elite, and our LBs are getting punished in the run game because our DL is soft.

    Tear the whole rotten thing down to the studs, keep some of the young talented players and bring in a real VP of football operations to hire the right people. The fans deserve better than the fool’s gold we keep getting sold year after year.

  10. Don’t forget, teams are also historically (0-1) in Super Bowl rematches with 15% cloud coverage, on dates with TWO prime numbers (11/17), where both starting QBs played in the SEC at some point! That team? The 2024 Jets.

  26. On top of this being a stupid stat. This is also wrong. The Jets were certainly penalized for 15 yards. For some reason the stats are showing the false start being a 4 yard penalty, but it was on the Colts 11 yard line, so it should be 2 penalties for 15 yards.

    If you include that, there was a game earlier this year that the Dolphins lost (also 28-27) where they had 0 turnovers and over 25 points scored.

    Also earlier this year the Bengals lost when they scored 33 points and had 16 yards in penalties and 0 turnovers.

    It’s honestly bizarre that the Jets are listed as having 14 penalty yards.

  29. They have all the talent that winning teams do. It’s just bad chemistry or bad vibes. Like their visibly frustrated after every play. It’s totally coaching and not the talent. The team needs to get sold and everyone on the coaching staff and football operations team needs to be let go.
