[Passan] Right-hander Deivi Garcia and the Milwaukee Brewers are in agreement on a minor league deal, sources tell ESPN. Garcia, 25, was at one point a top prospect with the New York Yankees. His stuff still grades out very well, and Milwaukee has become a haven for pitching reclamations.

  1. The Brewers would truly be miracle workers if they took a guy with a 6.31 ERA in 274 AAA innings in his career and got something out of him. The last time he put up numbers remotely palatable was 2018 and the first half of 2019 when he was 19/20 years old and in A/AA.

  2. Probably not going to lead to anything but a fun arm to work on. He has tantalizing stuff and never seemed likely to stick as a starter given his size and injuries. Last chance saloon for him might make him more amenable to coaching if that was an issue previously.

  3. The replies from Yankees fans to that tweet have me very optimistic about this. Sounds like a guy with a huge up side if the brewers can continue to work their magic.
