Boston Bruins in the Trade Market? | Lindholm Calls Himself Out
Reports are circulating that the Boston Bruins are in the trade market, and they’re coming from Cam Neely and an NHL Insider.
I do a deep dive into who could be traded and what they could get back in return.
I also spoke to Cam Neely again about being in the media because he can’t get Jeremy Swayman’s name out of his mouth.
Elias Lindholm calls himself out to the Bruins media, saying he must be better.
I cover all of this Bruins news on the latest episode of Bruins Diehards.

Who should the Bruins Target?
If a trade can turn this around id be very happy! For me, Having teammates that are friends off the ice seems like a good way to start getting them to play well together. Idk man im kinda over this season already to be honest. I lost my energy these last couple games to enjoy watching.
I’ve heard they’re also linked to Lawson Crouse. Personally I wouldn’t go for zegres, he doesn’t fit Boston culture. He still acts like a kid and immature sometimes and I just don’t think he would mesh well in that locker room. Plus who knows if he can get his game back together
if the public knew everything they may not buy tickets from the front office point of view. from my point of view TV ratings are reflecting the way the Bs are(nt) playing
Draft picks, that’s what the Bruins should be trading for.
Look at that dead cap money.
I see Sweeney trying to trade more draft picks geekie with Boston retaining salary
Thanks for the video, I can't think of anyone else to basically sum up that much info about the Bruins.
Out of all these guys mentioned for trade Brock Nelson hits me the most. That would be awesome to have him on the team. Zegras would be good too however struggling point-wise is ok but struggling due to injuries is a red flag for me. Kazri would be great for the last season, not this one (to get guy this old is good if you're running for the cup, this year I don't believe in it) and as for Farabee I don't know if Bruins have enough leverage to get this guy on our team. If they do that would be also great addition.
A trade could possibly help, at this point. The problems are many, but with some work, a few of those problems could be fixed. The defense and goaltending are playing well below what is possible from them. Those could be fixed without a trade. The real problem, which was somehow mitigated last year are now paunfully obvious. Aside from Pasta and Marchy, our forward group is terrible. A forward group of primarily bottom 6 players. A trade could help in the short term, but it wont fix the problem.
i don't get the connection between salary negotiations and crummy play on the ice. fer chrissakes, these guys are all millionaires. when i go in to make widgets every day at sunrise, i don't make stupid mistakes cuz i'm not sure if i'm gettin that nickel raise. maybe the Bs are that mentally delicate, but why would so many players be so profoundly affected by someone else's negotiations, when the minimum paycheck every player is collecting is 58 K ? if monty was neglecting his PP during training camp, when his team is so weak 5 on 5 historically, then perhaps someone needs to check on monty's consciousness hourly. he can't get any ice time for the most important special team he has, he can't run an effective line change ( they had another too many men on the ice penalty this weekend ) and he's got no answers. ask him. he'll say " i got no answers. " beautiful. making a trade is maybe just fixing one problem and creating another. with all the no trade clauses, it will be a miracle to pull off an effective trade anyway. it's a rubber patch on an old tire with a slow leak. even if you right the ship this year, this team has one and done written all over them. maybe they win one series, but that is wildly optimistic right now. there are still no high draft picks in the cupboard, so i say sell, sell, SELL ! it will take years of piecemeal patching to fix this team, and i think it will take just as long to blow it up and start over a la early 70s flyers and expansion islanders. do you want more years of mediocrity or a couple of tough years and a brighter future ?
Running out of time that’s for sure.
#28 takes a while to adjust. That contract brings extra pressure.
Hall coming back (retain 50%)…
Krause (Utah)…
Tage Thompson, as Buffalo HAS to do something…
I'd rather chew broken glass than see Kadri in a Bruins jersey. HARD PASS.
Yup .. Swayman didn't do his team any favors during the pre-season, and compounded that with his crappy play thus far.
Without goaltending these guys would be getting dallas'd on the reg
The Bruins prospect cupboard is pretty bare they will have trouble getting the players they need.
Cam Neely should look in the mirror they created the mess. It is not an easy fix at this point.
Im still butt hurt from thr swayman negotiations. Fuck that guy! He was the beginning of the end.
Zegras, oh please no. The Bruins have a team full of these players. But at least they aren't costing over 5 million a year. A team overloaded with U.S. college players, we see the result. Sweeney has built a team that can win the Beanpot and become the best college team in Mass. The problem is, the Bruins play in the NHL.
i wouldnt mind if they decided to go for Zegras imo he has the most potential and hes young , if he played with Pasta i believe the results would come
Any chance of getting Taylor hall back?
By all means if they can swing a fair deal that may help the team out, then go for it. Having said that I don't think we are at any panic stage yet or should we give up on the season to start a rebuild.
This team simply needs to fix their special teams. Last few games they have not marched to the penalty box as much as the start of the year but while the penalty kill has shown signs of turning itself around, a little, the powerplay is simply atrocious.
Fix the special teams and this will instantly boost our goaltenders stats etc. and should increase our wins. We had the least goals allowed 5v5 up until the last couple games.
Perhaps for once this team will face adversity in the beginning of the season and finish strong right through the playoffs instead of the opposite way LOL Fingers crossed !!!!
Trade Freddy at the deadline if he isnt signed for under 4. Sweeney will probably give him 6.5 a year for 6 years with a full NMC. Dont bother with zegras.
That’s funny Monty said “we haven’t had time to practice the PP.” I guess he didn’t have time for the PK as well. Taylor Hall was a healthy scratch last night. Hmm! He’s a very prideful guy. Maybe, they could look into bringing him back.
Seriously… have we became so sensitive that a little drama wrecks the whole year?
They don’t need to trade they just need to play 60 minutes or at least 40 minutes. Theres to much blah, blah, blah ….this team is a write off …it is what it is 0:15
I think the Bruins need a 'together break' but their bye week is not until the end of Jan. This team needs to get back to comradery that makes them one of the most fun teams to play on. They need that feeling where any player would have any other players back. Seems to be no friendship on the ice. You could see that brotherhood in years past. They need to get that back.
As for Zegris….big no. He is puck shy. Scared to get hit. No heart.
If they were to bring in Brock Nelson, they would have to get him now with salary retained. If he did come and stay they could get him on a cheap one or two year deal next season.
I know they could never afford him but I would really like to see Jonathon Huberdeau in a Bruins jersey. He has never been happy in Calgary and with his style he would fit right in. I guess if they traded Swayman with a prospect they could get him and either Dustin Wolf or bring Vladar back to the B's. But this is all wishful thinking.
Hey with these rumors I could be an NHL writer … baahahahahhaaaa
Nelson amd Farabee would be nice additions. To make it work better, Hanpus should go on LTIR. Not only to free money for oncoming players, but also as we saw with Kevyn Miller, kneecaps need so much time to heal fully. Im all for keeping Hampus out until next season to make sure he can get to 100%. Miller suffered too many setbacks and it definitely shortened his career.
I'd take Hall back at 3mil, can't be any worse.
But, I would consider Swayman for a big haul.
Maybe he's playing bad on purpose hoping he will be traded. Too much bad blood.
They don't need Zegras.
Monty needs to go.
Kadri is a dirtbag NOT a Bruin.
We need a stronger character leader. Be it a new veteran, a new coach or dare I say, a new Captain!
This is perfect Florida had issues and where were they at the all star break last year?
The Bruins are wicked out of shape and everyone is tradable. 😜
Bruins have been slipping away and at this point no trade, coach firing is going to change anything. Sweeney has sold us down the road with all these no trade clauses.
Heaven help the Bruins if they trade for that clown (Zegrasshole)! All he is is a trick shot specialist that doesn't have the first clue how to play hockey! He should stick to lacrosse! He's not a serious hockey player and will never last as an NHL pro.
Boston never should have let Tyler Bertuzzi go. Pasta and Tyler clicked big time. I say get him back.
Shocking to hear how many players have no trade clauses. Pasta, sure, core. Zacha really?
Honestly, they should have tried everything under the sun to get Crosby to come over before he extended. They don't have a true #1 centre and arguably just barely have a #2 in Lindholm. Coyle may be the best 3rd line centre in the entire NHL, but neither he nor Zacha are top 6 guys, meaning that Zacha could go if they did get a true top centre. Sid and Marchand have wicked chemistry, and with the Penguins sinking faster than the Titanic, he might eventually be willing to let the whole one-team-for-life notion go. Throw Zacha, Zadorov (who hasn't really fit in with the Bs), and whatever other scraps (the worst couple of prospect you've got) into an offer and Kyle Dumbass would probably jump at it. He's so stupid he'd likely even retain a ton of Sid's salary! The hardest part of the deal would be getting Sid to let go of the Penguins fading hope, but he and Marchy are great buds, so he might just do it—particularly if Malkin is kicking around the idea of retiring at the end of this season (as has been rumoured) and Letang wants to finish his career with the Habs.
we dont need new player – we need a coach that could use the one we have – he needs be able to implement an playing style that fits the player we have.
Montgomery should have been fired after the 1st series debacle with Florida. Fire him now.
I think you're full of it. Cam nearly never said a word until Swayman took this to the limit. And because Swayman never played a minute until the season began he left his teammates hanging out to dry through all of the physical regimen and preseason games. I don't care how much he says he was "working"on his own. And there is no doubt in my mind that a netminder with barely a full year of experience and roughly a half a seasons worth of starts asking for what he was asking also frosted more than a couple of people. Do not lay one comment by Cam Neely on this. There's no doubt in my mind that swayman has alienated more than a couple of teammates and created a rift in the room. The b's not only changed over a fair amount of personnel but they also changed change their make up from a team that was more talent than tough to a much heavier style of play. This is going to take time to begin with and having Swayman be the fly in the ointment was the last thing they needed.
I have 64 million reasons why they suck. And Zegras is trash. Algorithm FTW.
Did this guy actually suggest Kadri? The day they bring that puke in the Bruins room is the day i stop watching Bruins Hockey
Forget Zegras, give me Crouse off of Utah to play with Past and Zacha on line 1
In case you weren't aware, you have this habit of coming off as informed and reasonable.
