  1. Luka has team mates good enough to do less in attack and more in defense. He can shoot less, carry the ball less and move more in defense. It is time to that change in his game, but before, he has to get in shape.

  2. Great win! Man this team can really score and could easily went to Gaff more against those tinies in there.

Yeah Chulpgreim didn't play, but both SGA and JW had a great night and Mavs still managed to get W.

But how is Klay a better defender than Luka…? 😭

  3. If Luka can only integrate his game with the team's dynamic when he comes back, the Mavs will be unstoppable. Offensively, moving the ball more and engaging more teammates, and going through the motion of cutting and setting up picks. Defensively, putting in genuine effort to guard his man. This game highlighted that defensive rotation is far more effective when everyone is committed to guarding and rotating responsibly.

Even Kyrie, who's is an iso player, is now playing team basketball, both offensively and defensively.

  4. The Mavericks are a better team (player-wise) than last year! Hardy and Naji are definitely improvements, Klay still needs to find his rhythm, PJ, Gafford, and Lively are excellent. Gafford and Lively need to be fed the ball even more, and PJ and Naji need a bit more freedom in their game. In my opinion, this team MUST win the championship, because if they don’t, I’ll blame Kidd for not preparing them properly and not setting up the offense correctly (roles, ball distribution, playstyle, and defense).

Everyone keeps criticizing Luka for dominating the ball, but they don’t realize that it’s not his decision; it’s the coach’s. So direct that criticism at Kidd (look at how Luka plays for Slovenia and how he played in Madrid – much faster and with less dribbling because that’s what the coaches demanded). And yes, Luka plays weak defense, and I criticize him for it because he deserves it. But today Shai played the exact same level of defense as Luka, and no one in the media is giving him flak for it. Such hypocrisy.

Tatum isn’t killing himself on defense either, nor is Harden. I mean, we could name half the league.

  5. You guys complaining about Luka haven’t suffered a knee injury. His balance and usual agility is off until he’s healed. He’s going through a tough time. Give the future champ a break

  6. Kidd needs to stop screwing around with Grimes and Dinwiddie and just make Hardy the 6th man. Dinwiddie doesnt have a dribble drive game anymore, and grimes is unreliable offensively if hes not wide open, hes another Dante Exum. Lively needs to stop getting blocked by dudes almost 6 inches shorter than him. Klay needs to be benched for the foreseeable future, he isnt even playable.
