  1. I agree with what Steven says about the relationship with India and the team with these rumors. I suspect he'll be gone before next season, whether KC or someone else.because of the team's infield depth .

  2. However, most trade rumours that get leaked don't occur bc of whatever snag led to one of the sides conveying the conversations were had w no resolution

  3. I don’t think it’s an even trade tbh. India is a consistent leader on the team. Id hate take a chance on a pitcher like that when we know indias value. I want him to stay but if he doesn’t I think he would fit in well in kc. I wish him the best either way.

  4. Those same projections had Royals finishing 73-89 and Padres finishing below Giants…Reds were bad because they were hurt, young, and very reliant on contagious momentum. They’ll be better if they’re healthy naturally…Krall ain’t looking at Zips projections

  5. Sounding like Martinez may be leaning toward accepting the QO. If they do do this deal, it may include the Royals sending the Reds some cash to offset the apprpx. $3.3M difference between India and singer (making the deal more salary neutral), netting KC an additional prospect.

    Greene
    Martinez
    Singer
and two of Lodolo, Abbott & Lowder (not shabby).

I look for another deal (or two) for an OF(s). The Reds aren't going out and pay $25M+ (AAV) for Teoscar or Santander and Soto is beyond a pipedream – beyond those three, I really don't see a FA OF (as the market now stands) worth pursuing. I believe they put together a pretty decent prospect package (not named Petty or Arroyo) for a power OF bat under control that we haven't really discussed much (or maybe Rooker). I'd also like to see them add a young OF with some on-base skills.

I believe the Reds will come up with about $12-16M above Martinez' deal (not including the raft of AAAA depth guys & "show-me" vets signed every year and invited to ST.

  6. Do the deal. India name has been mentioned so many times in trades he’s probably ready to go…

Flip side now you don’t rush last years first round pick. Maybe you trade for a Luis Roberts jr kinda player….

  7. Not sure why so many people would be so sad about getting a starting pitcher for India. He's the "heart and soul" of a team that has missed the playoffs 4 straight years.

  8. Brady singer is a better pitcher than his tecord would indicate. He played with some trash Royals teams. His FIP shows that. His home run rate of 1.1 per 9ip will translate because he is a ground ball pitcher.

Indy gets to go compete for a ring and we get to improve our defense and set up for the future. I think its a win-win and i think we could easily coax a little more out of the Royals if we tried.

  9. Greene, Lodolo, Abbott, Martinez, and Singer pushes Lowder to either AAA or the pen to save innings on his arm which is a good thing. Martinez is gone in 2026 and replaced by Lowder and Singer gone in 2027 to be replaced by Burns or Petty. A trade like this makes sense. I think that offering Ashcraft and Phillips along with India gets the deal done.

  10. This move would make more sense if they didn't sign Nick Martinez to his qualifying offer. If this trade goes through either Rhett Lower starts in triple A which is a mistake or we are paying Nick Martinez $21 mill to be a bullpen guy which it seems like he doesn't want to do anyways.

  11. Greene and Singer are different pitchers but in all due respect saying he can't come in and push Hunter I think might be bias. The guy was the 18th overall pick, has an impressive arsenal and in my true honest opinion comes in and can legitimacy push for that 1-2 spot immediately. The fact that we could move a 2nd baseman who I do like but struggles with range and fielding for him is perplexing. Regardless, he's a far superior option than Martinez, Abott and Ashcraft right now.

  12. Hoping Singer would come to Cincinnati to play WITH Jonathan India not trade for India. Both are Florida Gators. I think they were teammates in Gainesville. Singer has been the Ace of the Royals for many years. Francona is very familiar with Brady Singer. Why not trade Noveli Marte? The Reds 27th best team in baseball? Because they had the 30th best Manager in Baseball . I am sure Terry Francona would not take the Reds job unless he had assurances that significant moves would be made.

  13. India was one of the few people to improve offensively last season. You don't throw that away until other guys have proven themselves. We don't know what Marte is. We don't know what McLain will be after being gone for a whole season. Candelario hasn't proven it. CES hasn't proven it. So trading India at this point in time is straight up stupid. We can't run with the same assumptions we had coming into last season, because almost no one lived up to them.

  14. Everybody who knows me knows that I’m the biggest Jonathan India guy there is. That being said I do like this deal it’s time to just face fact that his fit is not the best on this team anymore with all of the other pieces in the infield and everything you said about Singer, here is correct and I think he would be a great addition!

  15. HATE to lose India, but it's undeniable we need an innings eater in our rotation. And multiple other players can cover 2nd base, arguably better than India can. That's the business side of baseball though. I wish nothing but the best for Jonathan, whatever uniform he's wearing in 2025.
