The San Francisco 49ers have blown 4th Quarter leads to every NFC WEST opponent: Rams, Cardinals & now the Seahawks  have come back from deficits and beat the 49ers

  1. Our  defense isn’t the  biggest issue.
    It’s offense.

Why is CMC getting 19!! Carries?

Why don’t we adjust protections in obvious passing situations?

    Why isn’t anyone getting open?

This team has the QB, the RB room, the pieces on defense and yet we are 5-5.

Kyle is washed and will waste Purdy’s career if we let him

  2. Our offense is blow average right now. Debo has not made any impact in this offense. His run plays are so embarrassing. CMC still getting his feet back. You can tell it’s a combination of trying not to push him and him not being physically ready.

  3. We need a new playbook and some refreshment at our coaching obviously dude is burnt out he direly needs a OC maybe a new Defensive Coach. he needs help but he’s probably too stubborn to get it. He’s been figured out before it was only the top AFC teams that could get him. But now our division rivals have us cut that’s not a good look.

  4. There is obviously some sort of deep embedded scheme problems that can’t just be corrected without a new camp or something. Kyle’s gonna need to change everything up after this year cause he’s been figured out. Time to see that genius come out.

And defensively I know we’re not as talented along the line, so figure out how to blitz. We suck at blitzing and we need to figure that out too because the rest of the league is starting to do very fancy blitz packages that are really effective. 4 man rushes every time don’t cut it with the talent we have this year, with or without Bosa.

  5. 49ers need a real DC. Nick Sorensen and Brandon Staley are awful. If they don’t bring back Robert Saleh then they need to find somebody with a similar mindset of hard hitting defensive football. 49ers would not be 5-5 if they didn’t have jokes running the defense.

  6. Worst coaching job of the Shanahan era. Everything feels uninspired and stale. Too much talent at the skill position to function like this but imo our line is the biggest issue. We don’t get a push anymore in the run game. We have no attack mentally and even when we do our guys are undisciplined and commit penalties. What happens when you fail to sure up the o line every off season I mean rolling in with Brendel and McKivitz was apparent. Doesn’t help with the Williams holdout and Banks production decline.

  7. Shanny blowing leads? No way! I didn’t know it was possible!

Dude has NEVER been a good play caller. Idc if he’s a “genius” at designing plays or offenses he cannot call plays to save his life. Been wishing we had an OC for years now

  8. Wonder how Kyle would construct this offense without Deebo? Like guy is basically done imo, or will be with in 2yrs. Time to move on and force Kyle to create an offense that features Purdy/CMC/Kittle/Jauan/Ricky

  9. This is more on the offense than the defense, they got to do better in the red zone and helping out their defense with larger leads.

  10. Kyle Shanahan does not believe in praticing the 2 minute offensive drill so no 2 minute defensive drills either. It is harder to come back once he loses the lead because precious seconds are wasted being not prepared to execute immediately. You can see the lack of urgency in the offense when they get to the line with 7 seconds or 5 seconds on the playclock on almost every play. Teams are less likely to jump offsides with little time on the playclock and there is little time to adjust.
That is just one thing of many that Kyle Shanahan is inflexible on and refuses to adjust.

  11. The most frustrating aspects:

This team never goes for the jugular. As soon as there’s a lead established it feels like the game plan shifts to protecting the lead rather than piling on.

4 minute offense kinda plays into this. It’s predictable and we all know we’re going to see 2 interior runs for 1-2 yards on 1st and 2nd, followed by a 3rd down incompletion because the defense blitzes and has a free rusher.

The pass blocking is broken. Defenses have figured out how to show pressure but only send 4-5 and still end up with a free rusher to the QB. How often have the fake bootleg rollouts been blown up because Purdy has a guy in his face the second he turns around after a fake?

  12. It’s pretty obvious this season is a lost cause. Even if they do find a way to sneak into the playoffs, they’ll get obliterated by any of the good teams in the NFC. I don’t see very many wins remaining on the schedule. Way too much pride and talent in this organization to go full tank mode, but I’m starting to think more about draft position than winning a title.

Playing this poorly in a Super Bowl or bust kind of season is a total disaster. The blame I think falls mainly at the feet of the coaching staff. Offense was supposed to carry this team. They look pedestrian.

  13. I’m not exactly counting us out because the NFC West is so tight, but it just doesn’t feel like it is our year with all the injuries and changes we just can’t get into a rhythm. I’m also noticing that Brock has not been throwing with anticipation anymore, perhaps because he is working with new WRs 🤷‍♂️

  14. Well, this organization is strongly competing with the Raiders organization for the “Professional Losers” title. WTG Kyle!!

  15. We are no longer an Elite Defense. Our offense is even struggling in the Red Zone. We’re not Cowboys level of bad, but we’re not good enough for the SuperBowl.

Shanny doesn’t seem to adjust. And the defense the last 2 years has gotten worse. Not sure what that means coming up.

I believe in Purdy, Kittle, Deebo, CMC, Williams, Bosa…etc…we’re missing that spark this year. I don’t have faith that can keep leads.

    I’m just seeing reality.

  16. Wilkes ain’t looking so bad anymore huh guys. Need Saleh back next season. Defense played great yesterday IMO especially short handed. Offense has no explosives. Missed Kittle big time.

  17. There is conflict in that locker room that is hush hush. Unfortunately, no way to hush it up on the field 😒

  18. Kyle’s biggest issue is how conservatively he plays.

We get leads and lose them due to preventive defense which we clearly can’t do well. We’re conservative with our plays when we have a lead and don’t take big risks when we don’t have the lead and then just lose gradually. Then there is our bad red zone conversion, we don’t have big enough guys to really it in I guess. Or, possibly, it’s another case of going for the safe plays over the riskier plays and it’s too telegraphed.

  19. On the bright side at least the trend is within our division so here’s to hoping none get blown against upcoming opponents outside the division!

  20. Just planting my flag now in a thread like this and saying firing Shanahan would be idiotic. I’d want him to have less control of the draft since I don’t think he understands opportunity cost but he’s definitely a Super Bowl caliber coach (yes, despite not having won one yet) and it’d be dumb to get rid of someone like that.

  21. One of the worst coaches with a lead in the history of football. Everyone says he’s the next Reid and he’ll go somewhere else and have success. My question is, was Reid this blatantly horrific coaching with a lead while in Philly? I don’t personally remember…

  22. We need someone to reign in Kyle because he will drag this team into the grave before he actually changes. I read that Brock’s not allowed to call audibles at the line? I think he’s earned the chance to at least try it every now and then. Not being able to audbile at all is just crazy to me.

  23. The offense sucked yesterday, but the D, has consistently been tragic. Steve Wilkes got fired for much less, so Sorensen should go!

  24. At what point will we start giving some blame to Purdy instead of the rest of the team?

He’s the offenses supposed leader and he hasn’t been able to score in the red zone or get more than 17 points on the board against division rivals. If Jimmy and Kap had seasons like this they would be under the microscope. He barely threw for 150 yards in a must win divisional game against the Seahawks yet I see him get zero criticism.

A lot of us need to stop looking at Purdy with rose tinted glasses and actually ask if he’s talented enough to lead this incredibly stacked team to the playoffs or a Super Bowl past some really good teams like the lions of the chiefs.
