[Keim] Quinn reiterated that Jayden Daniels is not injured. But, he said, the loss of practice time when he was first recovering impacted the rhythm and timing of the pass game.

  1. Ok, maybe this is legitimate. Hopefully Jayden got some full rest now that we had this mini-bye. Because let’s fuck Jerry Boy’s Cowgirls up.

  2. He’s def hurt.. but yeah it’s not the sole reason his play has dipped. It looks pretty obvious it’s impacted his mobility. Is he just supposed to say that? Are my eyes just that bad? He doesn’t make the same cuts he did earlier.. like against the bengals how he made that dude just fall over.. has he done anything close to that since the injury?

  3. Okay this I can buy. I’m not buying he was hurting last week, but the missed practice part makes sense

  4. I don’t buy it. That may be the line DQ has to say for various reasons but I don’t believe it.

JD couldn’t push the ball downfield on Thursday. He is clearly missing the burst and shiftiness he had pre injury.

He may not be injured enough not to play but it’s clearly making an impact on his game.

  5. We played two of the best defensive teams in the league. It’s really not much more complicated than that in my mind.

  6. i can’t wait for the first throw of the game to be inaccurate and people call for marcus mariota /s

  7. ~~erin andrews or whatever female reporter~~ Kaylee Hartung said she literally saw daniels wincing during his warmup throws….then the guy wears extra protective padding lmao

he may not be “injured” but he’s definitely hurt.

Occams razor suggests this is another case of a young star trying to rush himself back and the coaches let him because they don’t know what else to do or don’t like the alternative.

  8. I also think playing a Vic Fangio defense is a really tough ask for any QB, especially a rookie on a short week to prepare. I think they did a lot of with coverages both pre and post snap that Daniels hadn’t seen before.

  9. Riiiiiiiiiiiight, he didn’t look anywhere near like he did earlier, does timing fall off that quick?

  10. I’ll buy that with caveats. He’s not “injured” but he’s also 12 weeks into his first NFL season, where there’s no Grambling State or Army or Mississippi State on the schedule. He’s in the “everybody’s hurt” part of the season. How he handles that is as much part of the assessment as how looks on the field.

  11. I knew it, most people took him not playing 100% and us losing to 2 title contenders as him being hurt. We have other issues like our run defense

  12. Didn’t jd5 come out and say his ribs were still hurting? Thought he said that’s why he would grimace when he threw some passes.

  13. Watch every play he ran before the Carolina play and every play after. He’s obviously moving differently.

How much it’s affecting him is another question. I thought he played well, despite the limitations, against Chicago, New York and Pittsburgh. Maybe he didn’t have enough time to recover before Philly or maybe things got worse. Who knows.

  14. He’s hurt, but he’s having a little break right now and will get the bye in a couple of weeks. Hopefully he will be fully healed going into the playoffs. If he is back to how he was pre injury, we could beat any team

  15. I LOVE how all these keyboard insiders know the extent of an injury, or lack thereof, over what’s reported. I wonder if they know that injuries must be accurately reported to the league. If not, teams get punished. But…I’m just a keyboard insider 😅

  16. I can’t believe what DQ is saying because JD5’s throwing motion doesn’t look the same.

Maybe he is healthy and just didn’t want to re-aggravate against high pressure teams but if that’s the case then maybe it should have been Mariota playing on the short week.

He is short arming, not stepping into throw and not unleashing full throwing motion.

  17. Hes definitely playing thru some pain/discomfort. I think the cold is making it worse too. But the extra rest should make things better.

  18. Press X to doubt. He’s clearly playing hurt right now, but I understand why Quinn won’t say that.

  19. Why are people having such a hard time digesting that he just had a bad game. That’s it, nothing more. Everyone has them. On to next week

  20. I think the long week will help not only JD, it will help others who are a little banged up. I would really like to see Lattimore make his Washington debut this Sunday.

  21. I mean he’s still wearing a Kevlar brace and the sideline reporter mentioned during the broadcast he’s grimacing in pain after throws… I don’t buy it. And don’t want to, because he’s looked off for a few weeks now.

  22. First of all, they wouldn’t be using that heating pad or whatever on his ribs every single time he leaves the field if the rib was totally healthy.

I believe him that lack of practice contributed to the performance, but he has absolutely not been the same player physically the last few weeks. I don’t think there’s any question it’s been bothering him. He may not have been INJURED but he was definitely at least a little HURT.

  23. Any posts about a Jayden daniels injury need trigger warnings. I’m sure I’m not the only fan that has trauma from rg3

  24. Definitely not when he literally gets treated on the bench every single time he comes off the field?

  25. To be fair, we played a short week against two pretty damn hard teams and one of them being a night game in the cold. Having 2 big games with little rest, add on the o-line injuries and general risk and problems that come with that (people getting through I.e. pressure , qb-hits, and sacks), the cold making any injury that’ll usually be bearable feel 10x worse and then the general meat and potatoes of the season where everyone is hurt.. Tis a recipe for disaster. We got some calm (in retrospect to the last 2) games coming up with the cowgirls and titans which should hopefully give Jayden a little breathing room. Plus a mini bye then a full bye after Tennessee, just breathe people. An outstanding rookie qb on a team that has far exceeded expectations, what more do you want? Yea B Wag said we wanna win now but what if he said “we’re just rebuilding, it’ll take time”? What kind of vibe would that bring? Feel the mojo y’all, this team is great compared to last year. We got the right pieces and just because the puzzle is almost solved it doesn’t mean we can stop and say we’re done and show off a piece of unfinished work just because you can visualize it being finished (am baked so forgive me if that analogy don’t work).

We will be alright, just breathe

  26. The lack of designed option plays for Jayden suggests other wise. It’s clear they are only telling Jayden to only keep it if it’s the most free as a free bird running lane he’s ever seen.

That or matured insanely fast as a rookie. But I doubt that’s the case considering the poor throwing/accuracy/grimacing we see alongside the change in offensive play styles.

  27. He hasn’t got the corner on or out ran a linebacker since the Panthers game.

Before that up to the injury he was running for 80 yards a game and getting into the secondary just about every time.
