[Heyman] The motivated Mets and Blue Jays are viewed as threats to place the highest bid. Mets owner Steve Cohen and Jays owner Edward Rogers are believed to be two of baseball’s richest owners, and both seem extremely motivated here

  1. Get him and sign vladdy and we have a very interesting year. Would certainly sell tickets. Though I get we don’t want to get excited given the sushi restaurant last year…

  2. At least American journalists are finally admitting Rogers is stupid rich and can afford any player they decide to go for.

  3. Not getting my hopes up after last winters brouhaha.

If the money is equal, if I’m Soto I’m picking the team that’s better and in the city I’m familiar with and don’t need to clear customs to come back to

  4. I saw that Cohen was willing to go over 50m a season at 14 years.

Would we really outbid that? It’d be really amazing if we went all in. Don’t get me wrong. But would we actually do it?

  5. Tired of using the word overpay. This is a once in a generation signing chance, you pay whatever it takes and enjoy the decade of superstardom and revenue being a winning team will bring.

  6. Soto’s agent’s plan in motion. Pumping these idiot stories to the media.

Don’t be naive. Like Ohtani, he’s not coming and most likely already knows where he’s signing. It’s a show.
