I understand why Washington fired Jimmy Lake after 13 games.

Lake needs to be gone. IDC if he’s your friend, he’s had 11 games to prove he isn’t good and the longer we keep him the more the division will slip away. Lake gets 1 more chance but if we struggle against the Chargers his office needs to be cleared

  2. The front office didn’t make a move before the trade deadline. Everyone knew it was THE glaring problem with this team and management decided that it was good enough.

I’m happy to still be over 0.500, but it’s clearly been more luck than anything. Good teams win close games, but they also perform reliably. We are not a good team at this point.

  3. “Bend don’t break” aka give up 10 play drives to young inexperienced QBs that already love to dink & dunk. Jimmy Lake needs to be escorted out of the building.

  4. Anytime some coach brings up brotherhood as the culture they’re trying to build, that’s a red flag IMO.

You actually don’t want the HC to be so buddy buddy with the players because players get complacent. Of course you want players to like the HC and the environment they’re in, but you also want the coach to be able to push the player’s beyond their comfortability.

Every sports team that I root for that has had this brotherhood culture always ended up being a disaster in the long run.

  5. There was a drive early in the game for the Broncos where the defense actually held a bit and had them at 3rd and 10. Sure enough, the secondary played a zillion yards off the LOS and the Broncos threw the ball right to the sticks and picked up the 1st. They’d then go on to drive the field and score a TD.

You can’t just bring zero pressure and play off receivers over and over. That’s what literally every single offense in the NFL wants you to do. They’ll cut you up with the short to intermediate passing game and then they’ll burn you deep, too, since their QB has a year to throw the ball. Every mediocre to bad QB in the NFL will turn into the spitting image of Tom Brady if they’ve got time to just chill and make their reads/wait for guys to get open. The thing that makes playing QB in the NFL hard is that you (normally) don’t have all day to make decisions. You have 2.5 seconds to make a decision or you’re screwed. Unless you play the Falcons. Then you’ve got 2.5 **DAYS** to make a decision.

I honestly believe there are college squads that could score on this defense. Yeah, they’re a bit banged up at the moment. But it has been bad all year. And this is a defense that lost Campbell but gained Judon and Simmons. And Grady came back from his ACL. So how in the fuck is it **THIS** bad? Maybe hiring your buddy who doesn’t know shit about running a defense, much less an NFL defense, was a bad move.

  6. Jimmy Lake was bailed by offenses not being prepared for the start of the season and has declined ever since.I know we don’t have good pass rushers but to not be able to scheme at least 1 or 2 sacks against Mid-tier O-lines is embarrassing

  7. 1) complete
    2) incomplete
    3) interception
    4) sack
    5) scramble

5 things can happen, sir. And that last one is “good for the offense”, so double fail on that aspect of your fancy statistic!
