single handedly not only building the Celtics but also the NBA culture it self. he might be one of if not THE most influental person in BAA-NBA history
guy should get a biopic. Would be interesting
Charlotte would've been a championship franchise if they kept Kobe, but they traded him to the Lakers and the rest is history.
Then russell rings don't count bruh🤣🤣.
14:25 If I had a nickel for every time the Celtics traded the #1 pick for the #3 pick and ended up finessing two franchise players from the deal, I would have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice…
The greatest tragedy in his life was Len Bias. He got everything exactly right to get him after winning a championship. Imagine Bias and Bird on the same team, that would have been iconic. It took Boston 22 years to win another title.
What a badass!
The Abraham Lincoln of basketball😅
Damn thats funny how Ainge did the same thing with trading the #1 pick to the 76ers for the #3, know they'd pick Fultz, and the Celtics grabbed Tatum and got other picks from 76ers.. Ainge was taking Tatum no matter what, but capitalized on everyone being hyped on Fultz.. Which kinda sucks for Tatum, because he's obviously the #1 pick from that draft and his salary would of been higher, let alone forever being known as the #1 pick…
1:27 hockey team mentioned
Boston, Coach Red & Bill deserve a netflix series.
Imagine passing on one of the greatest players in nba history for a fucking ice show
If the Celtics were able to get wilt chamberlain and bill Russell together as a team they would have a bigger history than what we see today from Celtics culture.
i nickname myself after this legendary Celtics legends i used to be Boston Celtics fan since i was kid and my first team nba 2k before i move being blazers fans and bulls fans 💚🤍🍀🏀
they put him as the bad guy in the winning time lakers dynasty…

The OG Dark Lord of the NBA
Great coach no doubt one of the all time legenfs ..but a hidious winner and loser .
This is the last time you get away with crediting an old white coach instead of the dominant black man he controlled.
…have you done a video about Duncan/Popovich already?
why tf did they not listen to a man that was basically never wrong in scouting??? I would've listened to all advice from Red as a gm lol
