[Mia]I asked Doug Pederson if “playcalling” is one of the things that is being evaluated / may change.

Answer (in video form especially) is worth the 20 seconds

  1. This season has made me aware that the playcalling, while situationally oblivious at times, largely isn’t the problem. The scheme is. The system is obsolete and requires attention to detail that just isn’t present on either the roster or coaching staff.

Doug is up there befuddled because he truly doesn’t have any answers. The game has left him behind.

  2. Yeah, he’s probably taken play calling away from Press, given it back, and taken it away again already… there is probably nothing he can do beyond just changing the entire playbook. The thing is, his playbook and scheme are just too antiquated… it needs a serious update, too bad he won’t have a HC position to get that figured out. Fire him yesterday… he has become a has been coach

  3. The play calling doesn’t matter. Even if we ignore the fact that Doug and Press are staring at the same play sheets talking on the headset every play, they have been together for a decade now. They are calling the same plays the other one would call. It’s their offense.

  4. He should have just taken the George Costanza route of quitting while on top and retired after winning the SB in Philly. His legacy would forever be the guy that finally brought them a ring and he’d be a hero.

Then he could become a talking head on a sports show and just chat football the rest of his life.

  5. This is what happens when you keep your friend who brings nothing innovative or new to the table

  6. Dude just cant answer that question. I mean he fired shots at the team and especially Trevor but Press couldn’t possibly be part of the fucking problem…

  7. With the game still manageable, Morse went to the sideline putting Fortner in at center on a 3rd and 1 play, and they called a run up the middle for no gain. I know there’s little sense in dissecting the Lions game, because no matter how fine you slice shit, it’s still shit… but that showed me that play calling is indeed a big factor in our team’s predicament.

  8. im assuming “Nothing” is part of “Everything” on the table. KHAN YOU SUCK BALLS.

  9. We have an empty suit that spits out buzzwords he doesn’t quite understand as OC. Doug is overwhelmed. Press is the personification of the Peter Principle.

Doug’s going to go OC in KC or something and win another SB.

  10. At this point in time, nothing changes until the Ownership changes. Shad has money to spend but has no idea what he is actually spending this money on. He has allowed Baalke to basically rob him with the amount of wasted money on bad players or players no longer here. Not to mention that 20 mil in fraudulent gambling charges. It has been extremely clear that Shad is not capable of being a good NFL owner, aside from fronting cash to upgrade the city and stadium (which is great for the city of Jacksonville but doesn’t matter if the football aspect still sucks). Prime examples are the Bears and Commanders. The Bears have archaic ownership and are stuck in a cycle of suck. Washington got new owners and look at them actually succeeding.

Doug, Press, Neilsen, Rouscher, all of them should have been fired a while ago/never hired, but until the ownership changes, we are going to continue in this cycle of shit like the Bears because we are going to continue to hire inept front office members and coaches, because Shad really has no clue what to do outside of write checks

  11. Honestly starting to think play calling isn’t the problem, it’s the players just not executing the play. Don’t get me wrong, 3 seasons in with a lot of the same players and play book and they still can’t do it is either the coaches can’t coach, it’s too complicated or every opposition defence has figured it out.

  12. He is so stubborn. I get that coaches have an ego, but he’s convinced that it’s nothing he and Press are doing and it’s all something else. When asked what the something else is, he says we can’t point fingers. Ok, Doug. We can’t point fingers. Then what should we do?
