I was reading this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/tWEXenuuY7 and remembered how the Celtics were going after Paul George back in 2017.
According to this article https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2719225-paul-george-rumors-celtics-rejected-offer-included-3-1st-round-picks-starters.amp.html around the trade deadline in 2017, the Celtics offered our 2017 swap rights with the nets (the Tatum pick!).
Then, at the draft on June 22, 2017, the C’s offered 3 first round picks + 2 starters (one of them Jae Crowder).
We really dodged a bullet with this and owe the Pacers a huge thank you. It’s pretty scary how close we were to giving up the Tatum pick for Paul fucking George.

Thanks be to God.
I was in high school then and was ecstatic when I heard the news. I became a big fan of PG back when he took the fight to LeBron in Indiana, and my high school self would’ve been over the moon if he’d come to Boston. Now though, I’m glad we dodged that bullet and that he stayed well clear.
Sometimes it’s the moves you don’t make lol
Looking at you Justice Winslow
Sixers are such a poverty franchise.
I remember catching a screenshot from Bleacher Report where we traded Avery Bradley, someone (Crowder?) and the #3 pick for PG. Thankfully it never materialized, and we have someone who should be the face of the league.
PG for Tatum, JB for Anthony Davis, the Drummond acquisition push (I was and always have been a denier), Smart for Aaron Gordon, Harrison Barnes in the Hayward TPE, etc. It’s a good thing none of us are GM’s
