  1. I didn't want to offend Kyle ad make a post on his channel. I listened to the entire interview and learned nothing of interest. Boog talks a great "word salad:". His answers were glib and uninformative. You guys provide better content every single day.

  2. The Cubs’ TV team is ok. They’re professional. But I believe the radio team may be the best in baseball. I usually listen to the games instead of watching. With Sirius XM, I also listen to other teams’ games, so I know what I’m talking about.

  3. Thanks guys, I listened to his entire interview, and I felt the same way. According to Boog, the manager has little more to do than fill out the batting order and then sit down in the dugout while the game is being played. Boog is clearly not a Cubs fan. He looks at himself as a national broadcaster first and not a Cubs broadcaster. I don't want him to become a Hawk Harrelson, but I do want him to represent the fans point of view a bit more. And his take on a "sense of urgency" is clearly off base.

  4. according to sciambi, there can never be a player that has just checked out and doesn't care any more. because in his world, urgency doesn't exist. that, is idiotic. I seriously lost a lot of respect for him after hearing his idiotic take that he thinks is smart, while also demeaning fans. It's not just a "bad take" Matt. It's a horrible take.

  5. I started watching games in the 1960’s with Jack Brickhouse. To me, he was the Cubs. Then in the 1970’s my family moved to NYC and I watched Lindsey Nelson, Ralph Kiner, and Bob Murphy. They were a great announcing team for the Mets.

  6. The Cubs haven’t had the sense of urgency since they won the World Series in 16 .
The next 2 following years the kind of just settled , they had good years but didn’t go for it like in 16 .
They lost that sense of urgency after they won the WS .

  7. Love JD, cannot stand boog. It's him talking only analytics , mcnuggets, and not caring one bit if the Cubs wins or lose. I've heard him get more excited over a brewers homering than a Cubs player.

  8. Boog sucks he talks about everything but the team he was hired to cover .Boog is a national baseball announcer .I'd rather have Pat Hughes a real lover of the Cubs ,TV announcers we have are brutal..

  9. I, also, was pleased when I heard the news in 2021 that the Cubs had chosen Boog over Chris "Empty Suit" Meyers.

However, it's been four years, and Boog has simply not fully taken on the role of "Voice of the Cubs", and I think he never will. Part of it is h, part of it is Marquee seemingly wanting him to be a polished, national "corporate" broadcaster, but whoever's fault it is, it's not good when I turn on a game and say "oh, Beth Mowins is filling in today! Nice!"…much less the joy of a Pat Hughes fill-in day.
