  1. Will be remembered for that awesome 2022 class, but was statistically one of the worst GMs in Jets history. Very likable guy, but his time in NY was up

  2. So now the retcon begins right? National Media gonna suddenly claim he did a stellar job.

Anyway outside of 1 draft thats not even looking that great right now he accomplished nothing of note. Good Riddance.

  3. he had to go. clean house.

after all they did to get rodgers and build a contender it backfired miserably. you could have given a mulligan for 2023 but not for 2024. Total disaster. Clean house.

  4. How could he get fired if he hasn’t really been working all season? Joking but also not really.

Surprised he didn’t just see out the rest of the season but honestly this gives the org a head start in evaluating future candidates. Although a new team President/CEO should be priority #1.

30-64. Matt Millen, Mike Maccagnan, Dave Gettleman, Joe Douglas.

  5. typical woody move all flash with very little changing underneath. His contract was expiring anyway i doubt he ewanted to come back and work for this owner anyway

  6. So step 2 in the teardown is done. After the season we fire the whole coaching staff, cut Rodgers, Adams (huge cap savings), Lazard, Zuerlein, and possibly Mosley. Draft either a QB or OT with whatever top ten pick we get, and go from there.

  7. Woody fired Saleh and Douglas about a year too late. Should’ve been gone over the off-season. I hate that we have to trust our dogshit owner in hiring a whole new staff.

  8. Had to happen. Even with that 2022 draft, his record was terrible. Someone new was going to take over.

I’m a little surprised they did this now, but I guess now we have a head start on the search? It’s kinda crazy that not even a month ago, he orchestrated the trade for Adams. I figured he would be fired on black Monday.

  9. Blank check to Ray Agnew. Was part of Rams and Lions turnarounds from joke teams to successes.

No more GMs riding the success of already established great teams/cultures. Hire someone who has played a part in turning around a laughing stock team into playoff winning team.

  10. We’re going to see this exact same headline with a different name in 4-5 years

    Rinse and repeat

  11. Ah yes, this will solve all of our problems. Because firing people mid season gives Woody a chance to hire a search firm lead by Matt Millen and Jon Gruden to find our next HC/GM combo. But I trust the judgement of the owner who said just a month or so ago that this was the most talented roster he ever had as owner. And now the GM who put that roster together is fired.
