The San Francisco Giants are hiring Bobby Evans and Jeff Berry as advisors to new president of baseball operations Buster Posey, sources tell ESPN. Evans was a longtime Giants executive who served as their GM from 2015-18. Berry was Posey’s agent who left CAA earlier this year.

  1. lmao all these old faces coming into the org will either turn out amazing or horrible no in between. brb getting some popcorn either way

  2. I mean I know Evans was a part of the best run this org has ever had but I’m not sure I love the idea of just hiring back the old crew to recreate the magic. Evans was so bad as GM, I really question what his role was in the dynasty run.

  3. Would be extremely happy to see Buster hire Dusty to work with him in some capacity. I hope it happens.

  4. I have a lot of faith in Buster Posey making good decisions which will make the Giants competitive again.

  5. For the people thinking the sky is falling, Evans is not hired as a GM, just as an advisor.

And he was part of the team when they were a dynasty so he likely did something right.

  6. 2015-18: A golden age of giants baseball. Really hope we can get back to those amazing times…
