[Ian Hunter] Free Agent Profile: The Blue Jays should bring back Ryan Yarbrough

Would love to see him come back. A versatile lefty is good to have on any team. It always seemed like he pitched better than his stat line.
This is a no brainer, so unlikely to be considered by the front office.
We desperately need bullpen help, and will likely start the season with at least one starter who has innings questions (Francis, maybe also Yariel). Given Yarbrough’s price point will be low we should absolutely bring him back. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he signs in the next couple weeks, it’s not like his contract will prevent us from pursuing the big FA’s we’re rumoured to be in on.
There’s a reason his previous two teams were the Rays and Dodgers. He’s such a perfect fit for the Jays if they deploy a 5 man Right Handed rotation. A left handed long reliever that can step in and take advantage of the platoon.
Huge fan of that choice. Dude’s solid, can go long, and is a lefty. That’s three huge pieces of a good bullpen, and we should take advantage of it
For sure should bring Yarbrough back. He is exactly the kind of arm you want to have in the bullpen and he still has debts of frustration to pay
He should definitely be a priority. He’s so versatile. I bet there are teams lined up to get a meeting with him though so it could be tough.
The only free agent we’re getting. Who wants to come to Blue Jays when we haven’t extended Vladdy or Bo? We have middle to poor prospects in the system. Anyone who does come will be an overpay.
I certainly agree with having him come back. That’s a no-brainer. A guy who can come in from the bullpen and eat innings and keep you in the game is invaluable. I guess the only question is would he be interested in coming back to Toronto.
Either sign with the Jays or an NL team please. I either want to see you 162 times or never lol
I really hope so he was perfect for a “6th starter” for us
I’ll get downvoted but he’s really overrated on this subreddit. He’s a replacement level player both last year and he’s project to be again this upcoming year.
I would take him back on a minor league deal but anything more than that would be too much IMO.
