Players told 76ers coach Nick Nurse that they want to be coached harder, and coaches in turn said they want players to practice with purpose and attention to detail.

Embiid accepted the messages sent in the meeting, sources said, but he stated he is confused about what the 76ers are attempting to execute sometimes on the court.

Embiid, who was listed doubtful most of Monday due to an illness, was not seen by most teammates and coaches throughout the day before appearing for warmups and playing in the game.

Do you think Embiid is justified in criticizing Nick Nurse’s schemes after only playing in 3 games for the 76ers?

    Does ~~rehabbing~~ “ramping up” preclude him from participating in film sessions, being present at team practices, *watching and paying attention to Sixers games from the sidelines*?

    Just unserious stuff when you know the weight of a franchise is on your shoulders.

  6. Bucks and sixers should just swap coaches. Joel can have doc back who will soothe his ego and just let him dominate the ball all game while nurse can go in and actually implement coherent schemes in Milwaukee

  19. Embiid, who can’t stay on the court and who also needs the refs to put together a statline for him when he actually shows up, has problems with the coaching while his rookie teammate seems to be doing just fine. Quite odd… why would Nick Nurse do this to him?

  24. I’m struggling to think of who Embiid’s historical counterpoint is. It’s not Shaq, because even though Shaq was out of shape and coasted through the regular season (1 MVP is ridiculous!), he was dominant in the playoffs. He gave a shit.

    So who’s the star who is always hurt, doesn’t care, fails in the playoffs, and then blames everyone else? Is Embiid a 1 of 1?

  25. I mean I don’t think his injury prevents him from reading the playbook, or watching game tape.

    Seems like he is only engaged when is playing. Not really ideal if the team has already signalled he is going to be injury managed.

  30. 76ers should move on from Embiid. Rip the bandaid now before he’s untradable.
    Maxey has improved year after year and could be easily be the 1st option for this team.
