I’m going to get downvoted to hell for this, but he’s not wrong.
Every loss has been one score or less. You don’t do that without being in a place to win every game. That is what you want as a coach.
The issue is that, except for a handful of players having career years, the talent level on this team is lacking severely, which leads to horrid execution. That is from a front office who isn’t scouting properly. Yes, Zac is a part of that, but it’s not all on him.
So ownership fires Zac, and what’s next? Promote Dan Pitcher as the Head Coach? Bandaid solution?
I don’t see ownership paying a huge amount of money to poach Ben Johnson from the Lions.
Fielding that defense puts this team in anything but a good position.
I don’t think Zac is the long term answer. Hall of fame players usually have hall of fame coaches and he ain’t it.
Our Oline and D are fucking terrible, it may be mostly a personnel problem, but coaches are responsible for that/development.
If Zac is staying, other coaches/personnel need fired bc they are ultimately responsible for the product on the field. That product is 4-7
I’m sick of reading this shit every week.
The process is broken, sir.
Yawn
Dear front office, This is a business, and sometimes tough decisions have to be made to be a successful business. This means sometimes you have to move from people you are friends with. It’s not personal, it’s just an unfortunate part of doing business. Even though you may like a certain person, it does not mean that they are the right fit for the job that they have been tasked with. You are currently wasting quite possibly the best QB to ever put on a Bengals uniform because you refuse to make these tough decisions. I get that you may be attached to Duke, but you have to look at his body of work and ask yourself if you really believe he’s drafting the right people, or bringing in the right free agents. Please stop treating this like a family restaurant and treat for the billion dollar business that it is and hire qualified people that actually know football. Spend more on scouting and hire a GM that is qualified for the job. You will get return on your investment. Why not do something that hasn’t been done here yet and go all in and get a championship. Please don’t let this turn into another Carson Palmer situation. We the fans stuck with you through that, but I don’t believe we will if you do Joe the same way, Sincerely, Bengals fan
I wonder what it’s like to have a good coach? I’m almost middle aged and have never seen a good coach in Cincinnati. I fucking hate it here
Wonder what circus Zac has been watching? The one that doesn’t know how to draft, or the one who selects free agents by their asking price?
Hey Zac, fuck off
Zac had some success, despite his coaching. Time to move on from this shit show.
“the team’s record isn’t indicative of who we are as a team”…. is something he has quit saying since they’re out of it lol that was his go to every week
I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt Zac for the sake of this argument you’re making, the issue is you get in the position to win and then you can’t.
Where does that fault lie, in our last couple offensive drives after being able to get down the field against a pretty good charger defense we stalled out multiple times, couldn’t even get into the red zone.
That’s gotta be poor play calling right? Can’t scheme up stuff to beat the defense, obvs we had mcdickson missing kicks but if we scored TDs like we were supposed to or at least get it to within 30 yards cause mcshitson can’t make anything 45+ anymore we maybe have some wins back, certainly the first ravens games comes to mind.
It’s a Duke Tobin problem. He’s had a decade to fix the trenches in this team. Specifically the offensive line. And sure, I think he only got special extra freedoms (with personnel decisions) after the shift to Katie and to ZT but a decade to fix the Oline. Over a decade to become a decent run defense team. However, we’re back to a “Carlos Dunlap and no one else” Trey Hendrickson situation and it’s disappointing.
