[Rogers] Among MLB roster manevuerings today, the Cubs are likely to DFA former closer Adbert Alzolay, a source tells ESPN. Alzolay underwent Tommy John in August. He won’t pitch until late 2025 at the earliest.

Not entirely shocking but I hope he stays with the team. He had a passion for Chicago that not many others on the roster currently possess. Fingers crossed he signs a new deal with us to rehab his injury and come back when we’re in the playoffs next season.
No surprise there. I think he will be back
God I hope we keep him on a rehab deal. He looked so promising in 2023, and then he got injured all year last year and this upcoming year.
I forgot he went down for Tommy John.
Not a shocker.
So over this guy. When healthy he isnt that good anyways.

Not an indictment on him at all. If he didn’t have TJS I’m guessing he wouldn’t be DFA’d. Hopefully they can find a way to have him sign a minor league deal.
Definitely feels like a bring him back on a minor league deal to keep rehabbing with the org. Sucks to see but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
Hope we can bring him back
Could do what the Brewers did with Woodruff and sign him to a small two year deal.
