  1. Better to be a team getting involved in these negotiations in a serious way than a team like Baltimore or Tampa who never get to see big name players come into the organization as free agents…..BUT….trying and failing to sign big free agents does nothing to help the on field product and when you pivot from not signing Ohtani to signing a 40 year old DH or a defensive outfielder it doesn’t mean much.

If the Jays sign Soto they still have significant holes in the their roster…but having a second monster in the heart of the order makes the job easier from the other 7 hitters. If they don’t sign Soto the Jays are going to need to be sensational at rebuilding the bullpen because the depth of the team is kind of crap from a production standpoint.

  2. I don’t think he’s going to the Jays. Rumors say Cohen offered more than everyone. The only thing I want, at this point, is for this to be over quick so we can pivot to whatever the hell the plan is for this offseason. Hear the offers, make up your mind, and pick a fucking team.

  3. It is 100% guaranteed that Soto has not let any of his preferences go public. Jon Heyman is insufferable in the off-season, and he’s not the only one.

  4. Not rocket science. Soto saw what happened and how the Toronto market and offer drove the dodgers to pay way more for ohtani

He isn’t coming here. He doesn’t want to come here and he will never come here. even if we offer more dollars, I don’t know Soto or what he wants specifically. I just judge by history until proven wrong. Until then, this ownership and management is being used as leverage league wide in my eyes. With very little intent to actually commit. When agents smell blood in the water, they attack

  5. This just in, there are currently 22 planes traveling from the DR to Canada & a secret private table was booked for 22 individuals to eat la Bandera in an exclusive Toronto restaurant. Also groundhog Willy farted and the fart kinda sounded like Christopher Walken saying “Juan soto”. So it’s definitely true this time
