SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3)—The Price Cutter Charity Championship’s tournament organizers canceled its annual Celebration of Caring because the money is unavailable to the charities.
Organizers uses the event to distribute money raised by the golf tournament. They say they canceled the event amid a challenging fundraising period.
Tournament Executive Director Byron Shive issued this statement:
“An unfortunate combination of rising expenses, inflationary pressures, and an unforeseen staff absence have impacted our fundraising and collection efforts at this time. We are working diligently to overcome these challenges and remain fully committed to meeting our obligations as quickly as possible. We appreciate the continued patience and understanding of our sponsors, vendors, and the charities as we work toward the fulfillment of our charitable mission.”
Since starting in 1990, more than $20 million has been raised for charities in the Ozarks.
