The Red Wings have hit rock bottom, and I am starting to lose faith in the “Yzerplan”. If you enjoy this type of NHL content be sure to subscribe to the channel if you are new!

  1. I'm still with the Yzerplan considering we're still waiting for the younger players to come up. However, I do think we'll see a coaching change. Yzerman needs to find a way to trade half of the defense.

  2. Trading Talbot close to the deadline to a team that needs a second strong goalie for a playoff push. That’s all I see in our future, maybe the Plan was to tank this season secretly for a pick… Rip Lalonde you will be sacrificed for the team to still be weak for the next while. Holes on the blue line and a lack of goal scoring potential is gonna be a plague for the rest of the season

  3. I’ve been a Wings fan since they lost in the finals to the penguins(wasn’t into hockey the year before) and to think that they’ve been this bad for over half of my time being their fan is so demoralizing. I just want to see Redwings playoff hockey. I don’t care if it’s a first round exit, at least it’s the playoffs. Starting to feel like this season is a write off already😢

  4. we have been screwed in all the drafts we should have been taking advantage of. They never really got the next superstar to build a new dynasty around, and now they have a bunch of mid tier talent with a shit coach, and an empty piggy bank.

  5. Walman and Gostisbehere are needed and I was sad to see them go when there still is Petry and Holl. I’m 50/50 on chariot, as I think he could play on a 3rd line, or 2nd to help balance it out.

  6. There's definitely some issues with the defense but the biggest thing to me is Lalonde NEEDS to go. His game plans aren't producing and his roster combinations are mind boggling. Him putting Chiarot with Seider as long as he djd before should have at least gotten firing considerations for how it dragged on Seider's development.

  7. I cannot put most of this on the players. We've seen this roster play well before. Not as much this season, but Lalonde has gotten good results from what some people think is a really bad group of players.

The team just doesn't play to its true potential often enough, and I put that on the way they've been coached. Every single player is doing similar ineffective, stupid things. Doesn't matter who it is and what the situation is, every defenseman will try an easy, predictable outlet pass by going up the boards to a forward who is standing still with an opponent right on top of him. Every player will pass up on a good shooting opportunity in the offensive zone to make an extra pass. Every player doesn't seem to be skating as hard or forechecking or hitting as much as other teams do. There are just fundamental aspects of their game that are lacking, even from their best players.

Lalonde has to change something fast, or he has to go.

  8. Yzerman has had so many bad signings it’s impossible to not have lost faith. The wings are going to be stuck in the doldrums. And now that you say it, they did pull out of the rebuild too soon because like Yzerman said “we need to learn how to win too” and all that did was get us less talent
