Jim Montgomery deserved better than this. This is now 3 Jack Adams coaches that have been axed within an 8 year span. When will those morons Neely and Sweeney realize that their terrible record of drafting and signing awful players at exorbitant contractors has locked the team into this situation?
I’m not defending Monty but to me, the front office is the real culprit. I love Cam Neely (Sweeney not so much) but they get a “D” for the offseason. 🙄

Isnt Sacco in charge of special teams? Special teams has been abysmal, how can someone coach a team if they cant coach 2 aspects of…THE SAME TEAM? im very concerned to say the least

Monty knew this was coming. We praised Sweeney when he put together the best regular season team in history and we knew he sacrificed the future to do that. We were all on board. I think Monty blew it that year. I doubt Sweeney put together the big slow team. I’d think that’s more Neely’s doing. I wanted to get bigger and tougher but not in every position.

I don’t hate the move to fire Monty just to try and get a spark out of the guys. However I would argue the Bruins overachieved big time last year, in part due to the coaching. The near collapse to the leafs you can put a big part of that to the players, and as you said, the leafs were a better team on paper. The only thing I really have against Monty is how he completely got out coached in the Florida series 2 years ago, so that’s fair. I think the biggest part of the blame should still be on Sweeny. Even going back a few years before Monty even got there, I think the Bs had overachieved in large part to the culture of the team.
Seriously? Players have a style…Small, quick, skilled, big, slow, mean, checker, etc… Coaches shouldn’t have a “style”. See who the opposition and create a strategy to beat them.
With this being a lost season right now what do you think about a “down on the farm” series where once a month you share your analysis of the P-Bruins? Focusing nearly 100% on players that could actually be in the NHL at some point.
Top players arnt producing and blaming the HC. HC is now fired and they have nobody to blame.

Almost the entire roster with the exception of Hampus Lindholm has been abysmal. Surely they are going to improve. The coaching change alone could facilitate that. The Bruins have an easy schedule for the next ten games. Play Korpisalo on Thursday. If he wins play him the next game. Give Swayman a mental break.

Not that Monty didn't deserve the boot, because he did, but this is Sweeney and Neely's 4th time firing a head coach, including 3 Jack Adams award winners. They are the common thread here. They are the wons who have never been able to consistently perform in the playoffs despite elite coaching and the best regular season record in the last 20 years. They were the ones who wasted Bergeron, Krecji, Tuuka, and Chara along with God knows whoever else's primes and only managed 1 cup with this team.
They have been the problem for a DECADE now and the same reasons the Bruins were a boys club in 2015 are here now. They need to go and they should have gone before Monty

We have two top line guys – ones injured and the other isn’t playing like a top guy. We then have a few 3rd line guys and some AHL guys. We actually don’t have anybody I would consider actually solid 2nd line Dmen.
As for the Monty / Sweeney / Neely, I think Monty has had way too much stick for a guy with his record, and the changes he’s had to endure. Sweeney is the culprit at overpaying and bringing in the wrong guys and cam is to blame for letting Sweeney get away with it.
I see Monty pulling a Cassidy and going somewhere with a young fast team of potential in a rebuild and lighting it up.
I think Marchy is also somewhat out of his depth too, I love him, but I think he probably puts too much pressure on himself to live up to Bergy.

But too many of this team are coasting and as such a change was needed – let’s see if it lights a fire, like you I expect maybe a push back for a game or two before reverting to type.
