Hard to win back-to-back games against the same opponent, let alone against a team as quality as the Jets. Noble effort cutting the deficit to 1 TWICE after trailing 0-3. Seeing Barkov/Tkachuk/Reinhart work together for that PP goal was beautiful. Sadly, right after that, we had our ***worst*** PK of the entire season arguably hemmed in our own zone for 2 straight minutes and Winnipeg finally scored on our exhausted unit. Convinced we come all the way back if that doesn’t happen.
Who knows if these matchups were a 2025 Stanley Cup Preview. Let’s get back on track vs Chicago.
Damn man this defense is really missing Montour and OEL
Proud of the fellas for how they battled back down 3-0, had so many near goals I lost count
That was a great hockey game. I wish they had completed the comeback but no real problems with how Florida played. They had a zillion chances and hit the post almost everytime, what can you do.
It be like that sometimes
Winning one game first then losing the next isn’t as bad as losing back to back against the same team. At least there is that. Also after the way the Panthers slaughtered them on Saturday I expected the Jets to come back with something.
Frustrating game cause we played pretty well all things considered. They got a lucky bounce that first goal and Bob will tell you he should’ve had their second. And we hit more posts than I can count. Oh well, we move. No need to worry about the Cats until they are facing elimination in the playoffs, which is a stark contrast compared to the rest of the South Florida teams
I’m good with splitting that series. I thought we played well over two games. Some issues we gotta clean up and we gotta lift whatever bad juju is on Swaggy.
I’d like to see these two teams in a series. Given the current state, I’d hate to say it, but Winnipeg probably takes in 6 with a lot of back and forth. But we solve our defensive lapses and ease up on the high shots, it would be a coin toss
Verhaeghe hasn’t been on his A-game for the last month or so. Too many take aways and just bad handling
Jets fan coming in peace here. It’s gonna be one hell of a Stanley cup final between us two this year ;). Game 7 nail biter
I don’t always check the standings this early in the season, however the top 4 teams in their respective conferences are going to put up some severe adversity (some of these other teams are getting 4 goals and making it look easy). Panthers roster stays healthy and prepare for Chicago and try to get some more 3-5 game win streaks.
I feel for Sasha. He played his butt off tonight and deserved at least a goal for his efforts. * shakes fist*
In my opinion that goalie pull on the power play with only a goal down was bad. Im confident we could have scored on a 5 on 4 and tied it up. Sucks.
Eh, at least we didn’t get pumped 5-0. The final score wasn’t really indicative of the play either. Tighten up a few bonehead D mistakes, Bob gets his glove a little higher, or one of those posties is an inch in another direction and this was anyone’s game. This really was one of our worst puck luck games in a while.
All that being said, I really liked that they kept fighting and didn’t flame out after it was 3-0.
In 82 games last year we let in 200 goals. That’s 2.4 goals a game.
This year we have played 19 and let in 62. That’s 3.2 goals a game. I’m really not convinced with this years blue line. You simply can’t lose Montour (2nd best D) and Ekman Larson (3rd or 4th best D, I think he was better than ekbald last year) and replace them with 2 league minimum guys and expect the same results. Ekbald is getting slower and slower with each passing game. We need defensemen , urgently. And we need them now because adding them at the trade deadline isint going to give them enough time to gel.
