They didn’t play hornets basketball the first quarter so it’d be nice to see that for the rest of the game.
Some true ref dickery tonight. Oh well. At least Brandon looks more comfortable.
Wtf was that last play lol
I’m gonna need some fucking answers from Lee
This is on Gucci Mane fuck that ref
That one’s on Charles Lee
should not have lost that one….
You never bench Lamelo in an end-of-game situation like that when he’s literally the team’s closer.
Sometimes you play a bad team and they shoot well and you miss good shots, but that wasn’t even close to what happened here. Inexcusable turnovers and some crazy lineups at the end. Melo shot bad all game but he’s done that before and single handedly led us to a win in the 4th. Definitely a yikes game all around.
Charles Lee benching Lamelo but then picking up a crucial technical foul is kinda ironically funny lmao
The Charles Lee discussion has been overblown up to this point but wtf were those closing lineups
Lost to nets without cam Thomas and Claxton 🫠
That baseline ref had to have a parlay on Brooklyn, can’t convince me otherwise. Literally the same exact guy making all the wrong calls
Charles Lee lost me tonight.
Well that was a terrible last play, no screen for Brandon or nothing
Up by what, 17? And end up losing. How many times have we just blow a huge lead this year
Refs shafted us in the last 5 minutes. Brooklyn had 3-4 flops get called their way.
TANK TANK TANK TANK TANK
Team still folds any time people play with any kind of physicality against them
Idk how Mark Williams looks his teammates in the face!
Lol@ benching the top 4th q scorer in the league.
Idc how bad Lamelo was playing, don’t sit him for half the game, and basically a full quarter, especially when he is statistically one of the best 4Q players in the league
So what was the message Coach Lee… we don’t trust our best player or something ?
You can’t bench our best player then get a tech. Bench yourself Lee
feel like coach was focused on trying to make a point by benching melo than actually winning the game and idk how to feel about that
I commend Lee for the hard choice to bench his star player, but that tech was the difference in the game. Stupid.
Even if he had been cold all game I’d still like to see LaMelo taking that last shot, are at least on the floor
Awful reffing but we didn’t help ourselves any. The double standard from refs is obnoxious. Lee argues with ref technical Nets coach argues nothing. Hornets celebrate after a dunk technical. Nets celebrate after dunk crickets.
Lamelo did not have a great game but benching him the entire game was not the right decision, especially when he is the team’s best player and closer.
Let him play it out and learn from mistakes. Review that shit in the film room tomorrow
Not loving Lee’s decisions at the end today
Just gonna be honest
I get what Lee did, but idk if Melo is the player that is going to respond well to getting benched by a new coach in crunch time. Especially when he has been clutch in the 4th quarter this season. I just hope Mark gets healthy soon.
Yall wanted Borrego to get fired because he didn’t play James Bouknight enough lmfao
Can’t really blame Melo on this if he didn’t play the 4th quarter in which he plays exceptionally well in. A lot of players do frustration fouls, it doesn’t mean you severely punish a franchise player for having emotions to a competitive game. I do agree Melo needs better shot selection and limit his turnovers but the shot selection should be the main issue. Point Guards get turnovers. That’s part of the game. It’s like QBs and interceptions. It’s bound to happen.
I would like to see Salaun and Diabate get more minutes. They need to hire robots for ref jobs.
No no, sit lamelo that makes total sense
yeah this blows but i’m happy salaun put up a good performance, also finally an efficient game from brandon. we’ll get there eventually fellas
We need a pic of tre showing his lip lol
Puzzling second half decisions from Lee. LaMelo picks up his 3rd on a charge call that was challenged (and upheld) at the 7:41 mark. Doesn’t play the rest of the quarter. Then in the 4th doesn’t come in until 7:15 mark, plays until he misses the shot/does stupid frustration foul at 3:15 and is benched the rest of the game. Played 8 minutes in the second half. The team had a nice run in the 3rd/4th but they needed his ball handling down the stretch. Then Lee picks up the tech that ended up being the difference in the game. I don’t think superstar or coach did well tonight. Disappointing game all around when we were up 17 in the first. Ughh
Fucking frustrating game. Losing a winnable game against a vulnerable team. I’m tired.
Im not happy with Lee on that one
Took our foot off the gas
Melo deserved to be benched. Fully agree with Lee’s decision, though I need to see more from him and the other coaches first before he really earns my respect.
Stark contrast between the first quarter and rest of the game. Yes, we were hitting shots, but we played at a great pace and executed fundamentals well. Those fundamentals went up in flames in the second when they upped their ball pressure. They started implementing full-court press and it worked so they continued doing it. They would double high and we are so static off-ball that nobody would help in time and it led to turnovers. We still can’t get the ball into the paint, and it seems like half our team can’t even dribble.
Lamelo needs to play within the offense, but we also need better players to have an offense to run without turning the ball over on a live dribble or illegal screen.
Very frustrating loss but well-deserved.
Trending towards barely missing the play-in and having a late lotto pick in a great draft. The hornets are back baby
That’s not how you hold a player accountable. I’m hoping that’s what Charles takes away from tonight.
Not to beat a dead horse but a traditional big would’ve gone a long way in this one
