  1. Lol this is unironically glorious. Bobby Evans has more baseball executive experience in his pinky nail than any of FZ's unqualified nepos combined. Deal with it, nerd.

  2. Said it before and I'll say it again. Farhan Zaidi was the "new way," he was the statistics/metrics guru and Dave Kapler was the "new school" manager. 1 inning starters, every position a platoon, no actual starters or roles or set lineups, EVERYTHING MATCHUPS ALL THE FUCKING TIME…

and how did that work out… Oh, that's right, THE GIANTS WERE A SUB .500 TEAM THAT FAILED TO MAKE THE PLAYOFFS 5 OUT OF THE 6 YEARS THEY WERE HERE.

I don't know if these moves are the right moves, I don't know if what Posey is doing will help… I do know that the "new way" was dogshit and the team was dogshit while they were doing things the "new way". Anyone who is advocating business as usual when business as usual is running the business into the ground IS FUKIN NUTZ. I don't want the Giants to continue to do things the Farhan Zaidi way… the Farhan Zaidi way resulted in a sub .500 team, for years… If you give me a choice between Bobby Evans who put together 3 Championship teams (or was at the very least a part of the group that put together 3 championship teams) or Farhan Zaidi who yes, inherited a mess, I AM NOT DENYING THAT, and completely failed to fix it, who came to a sub .500 team, and left us a sub .500 team… If those are my choices, I'll take the guy who put together the 3 championship teams… at least his time with the Giants had an upside, what was the upside of Zaidi's time here… the Giants didn't get better while Zaidi was here.

  3. It all comes down to driving in the runner from 3rd with less than two outs. It was very frustrating for me, Posey and Winn to watch. With a couple less blown saves and few more timely RBI's the Giants are right in the mix! Get a star starting pitcher (Burnes) and another bat (Adames, Santander, etc…) and plug a few smaller holes (bullpen and bench) and you have the makings of a pretty decent team. Hopefully Eldridge on the way is even more exciting. Another leap forward for Harrison and Birdsong? This team could be really good next year. The future is bright my friends.

  4. They did win those 3 championships but if we are being honest they got hot at the right time to win them. They probably weren’t the best team in the league from start to finish like how the dodgers unfortunately were this past season. Those few red hot octobers make up for a a lot of poor play during the other seasons and even chunks of those championship seasons. Not sure going back to the past is the best move here

  5. The moves are curious ones. Part of me wanted a brand new vision. One that heavily focused on player development. Idk enough to pass judgment on the guys brought in by Buster. So I guess we will see. I hope my fears are just me being too quick to jump the gun and I am wrong. We shall see. Thanks for the episode Ben!

  6. Kinda sad some in the fan base don't trust buster like cmon its only his first year hes learning. I swear some over analyzing the game of baseball nowadays.

  7. I can understand having a happy zone with anything less than 2 strikes. When you have 2 strikes, though, you defend the zone.

Im tired of watching good teams follow the 2 strike defend philosophy and watching the Giants wait for their golden pitch no matter the count. That philosophy makes zero sense.

  8. I think Bobby Evans would just be an advisor and ultimate decision making comes down to Buster. I don’t think Buster wants to tarnish his reputation of being known as a winner to fail.

  9. I don’t always agree with Ben… But here I do. How can we not be in anything but wait and see mode? Buster a member of the ownership group… Appointed himself king. I love the guy, I’m rooting for him can’t wait to brag about him at the end of next year, but we have to wait and see. Haven’t seen a definite plan yet.
This time of the year is pretty crazy with Youtubers and reporters. In the thumbnails and headlines, they all use words like predicted, expected to, will target.ect. But they never put who they’re talking about in the thumbnail or the headlines.
Today in Newsweek’s sports section, I saw Giants predicted to re sign X Cy Young, award winner, in the same publication three days ago I saw ex Cy Young Award winner predicted to cut ties with giants and sign with the Boston Red Sox for four years. Of course they were talking about Blake Snell. I’m not clicking on any article or thumbnail that uses those words, expected, predicted, etc. I’ll just wait and see, because that’s all us ordinary fans can do.
