My almost 18-year relationship with the Bears. (I cried in Middle School when the Double Doink Happened)

1. I was a grown-ass man when the Double Doink happened. I remember watching the Bears lose in the Super Bowl and to the fucking Packers in the NFC Championship Game. Nothing can hurt me anymore.

2. I remember throwing off my mack jersey and leaving it in the corner of the living room for like 8 months. We’ve all been there buddy.

3. Lmao middle school I was 28 in my apartment In oak lawn, was on my knees watching the kick then collapsed when it was no goo. Immediately went to the bathroom and just contemplated life for about 25 minutes then went to get some Raising Canes to numb the pain 

4. I’m about to graduate this year and it deadass makes me pissed lmao I live near the IL-WI border in the suburbs. But bear down I guess

5. I was 12 when the Bears lost the Super Bowl and I learned how bad sports can hurt that day (even worse than bartman cubs which was my intro to heartbreak)

   I still haven’t learned my lesson and I never will go bears 🐻

11. I feel bad for you that you aren’t old enough to at least remember the 06 Super Bowl season. Sure the Bears were still imperfect, and had a bad quarterback. But they were such an exciting team to watch and I was proud to be a Bears fan. It’s been a embarrassment ever since.

18. Damn, the Double Doink almost feels like a lifetime ago at this point. I remember it well though, we all had friends over for the game and after that moment I just got up walked out of the living room and without a word went into my bedroom, closed the door and just sat there silently for an hour.

24. 2011 NFC Championship Game, cried like a child in Chili’s with my at the time girlfriend. The waitress felt so bad she brought me an ice cream with a candle and told me not to cry. Consumed the dessert while drunk as shit still crying. 2007 SB loss was a different kind of hurt tho. Still remember the Hester return, the 5 turnovers, and Prince halftime show.
