Joe Burrow and Zac Taylor React to Bengals Week 11 LOSS to Chargers

The Cincinnati Bengals rallied from a 21-point third-quarter deficit on Sunday, but they came up short, falling to the Chargers 34-27.

This was a must-win and things looked bleak for most of the first half. The Chargers built a 24-6 halftime lead. Cincinnati rallied, but it wasn’t enough.

Evan McPherson missed two field goal attempts that would’ve given the Bengals the lead in the fourth quarter and J.K. Dobbins ran for a 29-yard touchdown with 18 seconds left to seal the victory. Joe Burrow and Zac Taylor share their thoughts on the AFC matchup, what remains of the 2024 regular season and more.

The Bengals have a bye in Week 12. They play the Steelers on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. ET at Paycor Stadium.

  1. Bengals have the talent to be a Super Bowl contender but for some reason its not translating into wins. Maybe is coaching, maybe its execution according to Joe Burrow as he said they just need to make plays at the end of games.

  2. Zac and Lou have to go now. Not the right fit for us. Bad play calling. ZT so predictable…first down is 90 % expectation to be run play that does not work most of the time. We don't use Tight Ends enough to overcome double coverage on WRs. Defense … can't win if you only have one consistently effective pass rusher. Sad for our Bengals this year

  3. They just arent good on the insode of the line and the whole defense. Its time to play the young guys and see what we have. Karas and cappa volson are not good. Its time to move on. Discount secondary players are obvious and bad picks. Defense beeds gutted. Wilson has lost two steps and pratt is just awful. 10 mill for hubbard is Ludacris

  4. Okay the Defense isn't great, we all have heard that. But here is something I, not bragging, predicted. "Watch for FGs the length or less than an extra point." That is a four point loss. Next, when you are not turning to your strengths at the end or towards the end of games, meaning you have ignorance under headsets STILL thinking they can call running plays in key situations, when your kickers confidence is down, even Tucker in Baltimore misses FGs, and then keep putting your defense in near midfield after two 50 yarders go wide left WTF do you expect? The NFL is a tough violent business. It's painful EVERY DAMN WEEK Zac and Company. What you did vs. Baltimore at home in OT is pretty much what you coaches did to your team last night. Wrong calls lead to stagnation. They kill momentum and it is this same lack of commitment we see from these coaches now. It has been inherited from the organization who lacks commitment. McPherson got this team past Tennessee and KC into a Super Bowl making rather long FGs in 2021 and this team, this crummy organization, needed ALL those FGs then. Bullock, BS, he would have missed half those kicks. The point is, with zero depth on defense, no threats from anywhere to challenge for their jobs, why not quit when the play calling fails and thus the offense fails? Those defenders often play hurt and banged up. Yes, many of those defenders might not make another teams practice squad but you play for FGs, run for no gains, keep putting yourself in 3rd and long or longer due to stupid penalties and can you blame the defense for everything? If this were politics and a democracy they would have voted the Brown Stain Family out back in Pauley's day. Instead they name a stadium after him and his son sells those rights to Paycor. Its more blind and more stupid that keeping following the blind and stupid that simply just got older, never wiser. Richer but never smarter. It isn't just that it is years and years of complete embarrassment.

  5. OWNERSHIP AND DUKE DONT CARE ABOUT WINNING THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY…… EVERY TEAM GO OUT TO GET PLAYERS TO WIN NOW WE NEVER DO…. STILL HAVEN'T PAID JA'MARR, TREY, TEE… WE LET MIXON GO, BATES, READER…….. GOIN FOR 3 2X IN A ROW IN REDZONE EVERYBODY ELSE GOING FOR IT………CTB KEEPS STARTING HE NEEDS BENCHING…. WE DEFINITELY NEED WHOLE SALE CHANGES HE ON SOMETHING. WE NEED CBS AND A SAFETY A PASS RUSHER, OLINE, KICKER SMH

  6. It's not just one play Zac. The team played horrible the entire first half. If they play a consistent and complete game, it doesn't have to come down to one play every time. If you look at even the year they went to the Super Bowl, they won a lot of games where they had to come back after playing terrible in the first half. The difference was McPhereson was making kicks and the defense was making big plays, but it shouldn't always come down to that because it's not always going to go your way.

  7. I've read enough comments mentioning defense. The Cincinnati Bengals don't have a defense this year. We are with a few on the bottom. This is not the same defense that showed up and made the AFC Championship/Superbowl. This D-squad is a dumpster fire. This isn't a team thing. Not one bit. The offense can put enough points on the board to win every single game. However, where the Hell is the D? If we had a D that allowed no more than 15 points a game on average, this team would be the number 1 or 2 team in the NFL. This is beyond disappointment. It's a disaster and that management office needs to go. No trades were made to get this defense rolling. None! This D was bad out of the gate and they did NOTHING.

    – Burrow needs to stay healthy.
    – Chase needs to stop crying over contracts and play football.
    – The management office needs to resign Tee and shop for a WAY better D.
    – Zack needs to stop praising garbage.

  8. Listen too the way ZAC Taylor talks proud of R guy's not many team's down 24-6 dig there way back fought the way they fought im proud of r guy's there going too B some opportunities it didn't go R way proud of r guy sick for R guy's how about shooting it straight we didn't do SQUATin the first half some of R players is playing up to R standards i didn't coach good enough how about some accountability from coaches & players listen too coach Mike Tomlin compared too ZAC what a joke

  9. I've watched Joe burrow since college my home team is UK BBN I've supported burrow since going too Cin's but I'm done this organization is really missed up from top 2 bottom it's why I've never really never been a fan before but i like joe i think he's one of the best QB'S in the NFL and i REALLY FEEL FOR BURROW TOO PLAY FOR A ORGANIZATION THAT WILL DESTROY HIS CAREER unbelievably Andrew LUCK 2.0

  10. If u look at the past few games n particular the second half Burrow is calling the plays and it's much effective and efficient ZT isn't the answer and playing situational football isn't his strong suit

  11. Both teams put their bodies on the line, it was hard fought. You can look at all the minor things that stacked up, but you have to also consider all the great things happening with the team too. Chase Brown and DJ Turner look great. Orlando Brown will be back on the ol. Burrow will get healthier over the bye. The opportunity at the playoffs is there still
