Bobby Kinne leaving Rays to become Guardians director of baseball operations, sources tell @TheAthletic. Had been Rays’ major league pitching strategist.

  1. I don’t know who this man is but the fact that we stole him from the Rays pitching tells me everything I need to know. Hell fuckin yeah.

  2. I can very much get behind this move. The Guardians and Rays have similar team building styles. He should fit right in.

  3. Personally I would’ve preferred someone from the Rays school of hitting but their pitching factory works just fine

  4. I love that we’re always adding to the pitching factory.

But can we add someone who maybe spent time with a team that developed hitters? Is that a thing?

  5. Yes!!! Great move; he seems like he knows his stuff & I trust the Rays org. Good job, Guards FO.

  6. What does the Director of Baseball Operations do? What’s the diff between Director of Baseball Operations and say a General Manager?

  7. I really like this move. The Rays have always been the sister organization of the Guardians when it comes to how they operate.

  8. Might be missing something…did we lose our Director of Baseball Ops?

Like most people commented here, pumped to get someone from the Rays. Very similar structure to us from a developmental standpoint.
