Core bore
Both of you are better than this
as a tampa guy i honestly see MTL having a way better future than TOR lol. montreal is getting their core assets locked down at great prices for one. that's going to bode well for MTL when they need to pay other guys, and as their older guys come off the books, that'll free up resources as well. they got excellent front office guys with VP gorton and gm hughes. 3rd, the fans there overall are buying into the vision. gorton and hughes aren't going to make knee-jerk splashes that don't serve the long-term best interests of the team.
TOR to date for the all the hype of the matthews/marner era, they got 1 p-off series win in 8 years lol. their stanley cup window is closing. on second thought, did they even have a window to begin with lol?
the leafs have got way too many p-off demons to overcome, and i don't see them overcoming that anytime soon with what they got.
My problem with Knies is that people are so obsessed with his talents (size, speed, hands) that they don't see the overall impact and skill level he has. He plays with Marner, and normally Matthews – also getting some PP time – and despite being hot he is still no where near a point per game player. Also, his play defensively is not anything special either. If you compare his output to pretty average guys like Bunting that were in the same situation – Knies is not doing anything special. I really hope they do a reasonable contract and I prefer something like a 2-4 year "prove it" deal. If they go for 8 – I really hope they get a reasonable dollar amount. In some ways the Knies situation reminds me of Kampf (big, super athletic) but Kampf doesn't have the finer offensive talents and can't do anything other than PK and 4th line. For Knies, I am still not convinced he is a 1st line player.
I ain’t got my hopes high at all, get those kids in the league and let’s see the progress. Also knies still needs to step up his game. Something is missing still.
Hey guys, great channel and great episode, as always. I love Matthew Knies. He's big, he's strong, he plants himself in front of the net and he is almost immovable. My only question is: when are the Leafs going to trade him? That's kind of their pattern, isn't it?
Not having Minten in here is wild. He is clearly #3 on this list behind Knies and Cowan.
