[Eugene Frenette] Obvious #Jaguars need housecleaning, but here’s why it fell apart again and owner Shad Khan is at top of blame list.

  1. I expect the staff is gone when the season is finished. If not, Shad deserves all the hate coming his way.

  2. I remember Doug’s first press conference. He specifically called out the fans and said he knew we had suffered a lot and that he was gonna get us winner. Then we had that chargers game. And now he doesn’t seem to care. This is so tragic.

  3. I agree Baalke isn’t the only roster builder, the scouting needs to be canned as well. I’m sure he picks the style of players/etc he wants to draft.

  4. >Khan, among 69 of 112 owners in NFL history who have been in their position for at least a decade, has the second-worst record behind the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Hugh Culverhouse (82-197-1, .294).

Wow. the 70s bucs are the worst franchise in pro sports history. these are our peers. considering khans resources and hhow he isnt an expansion team, he may be the worst decisionmaker in nfl history

  5. Shad needs to look the in mirror, admit he sucks at football operations, hire an EVP and then go sit on his yacht and count money.

  6. The downfall of the Jags was stubbornly and continually rushing an injured Trevor Lawrence into the lineup the second half of last year when he should have been given all the time he needed to heal. Instead they put out a not fully healthy Trevor and it clearly wasn’t working. The team blew a good lead in the standings and missed out on the playoffs. Playing hurt and losing was not good for Trevor’s psyche and wasn’t good for the team. Trevor this year is not the same QB as the start of last year he still has the tools but I think his head got messed up in the second half.

  7. As excited as I was for the press conference introducing Doug, seeing Baalke sitting there felt like a bad omen for what was to come.

I’ll forever be grateful to Doug for the 2022 season and for giving me short-term hope for a bright future. But whatever power dynamic he has with Press Taylor feels like a blackmail situation. It seems like Doug has lost his passion for coaching and feels powerless. That’s the only way I can explain why his phenomenal play-calling has been sidelined in favor of this nepo baby of an offensive coordinator.

As for Baalke, the writing was on the wall from the start. Fans were literally wearing clown outfits to get him out before Doug was even hired. Khan had every reason to fire him and clean house between 2021 and 2022 but didn’t. Why? Because Khan is a clueless owner who never should’ve been sold this team.

At this point, both Baalke and Doug will need to go. And if Baalke is still around by April 2025, I can’t keep convincing myself to watch this team or call myself a fan.

Even with a clean house, how can anyone trust Khan to hire competent leadership? I feel bad for Trevor. I feel bad for Brian Thomas, Foye, and Josh Allen. This ownership has failed our superstars. Honestly, part of me hopes they find new teams when the time comes so they can rewrite their legacies—because as long as they’re here, they’ll always be overshadowed by the Khan Artist.

  8. Shad leaning on Trent for his “football guidance” is all you need to know about why’s he’s has the lowest win % in the league since taking over, consistently surrounds himself with either non-ball knowers or Toxic people that will do anything to keep their jobs, he desperately needs another person in his inner circle that can actually give him an unbiased perspective on the state of the jaguars, that’s honestly where I think Boselli would thrive in, exactly like how the lions have used Spielman

  9. Eagles fan here! Why is he a bad owner? Myer was a reach coming from college, but 10 other teams would have taken him.. maybe not that many … I thought Doug was a good hire for the organization, but damn that skip guy lol
