Really good stuff here, I highly recommend reading before commenting.

    Some quotes from Jamal:

    >I take full accountability,” Murray said. “It’s not easy when you aren’t playing well. It hasn’t been easy with guys like Nikola and Aaron (Gordon) out. We were fully capable of winning these last games. But, for me, I have to play better. I have to take account for that. It starts with me.”

    >“I think it’s less about shot making and more about me being aggressive,” Murray told The Athletic. “The last few nights, it’s been a different game, not having Nikola there. But the thing is that I have to take it upon myself to be better, and not put the blame on anyone else. I have to have a different mentality on the nights he doesn’t play. It’s not going to be the same shots, or the same game. It’s all mental for me. We all have to have a different mentality when Nikola isn’t playing.”

    >Murray told The Athletic that he is completely healthy and free of the calf strain that he suffered in the playoffs, the injury that limited his performance in the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. That same injury limited him in the Olympics. He knew he wasn’t completely healthy going into the summer. But he also knew that Team Canada had a star-studded roster, and he wanted to be a part of it.

    >“I was definitely hurt going into the Olympics,” Murray said. “I was good enough to play. Obviously, I didn’t play great. I knew I wasn’t going to be great, but I wanted to be there. I wanted to play for my country. I wanted to be with my teammates. So I don’t look at it as the same mandate as everyone else. The Olympics was what it was. It’s important what I’m doing for the Nuggets, the team that’s paying me this money, the team that wants me here. I have to look at what I can do for this team.”

    >**“I’m still me,” Murray said.**

  2. Can’t say either way yet. Last night was nice but let’s see consistency. Need more than one night

  3. If Jamal Murray has 1,000 fans, then there are exactly 1,000 people who know ball.

If Jamal Murray has one fan, then I am that fan.

If Jamal Murray has no fans, then I have been murdered. They will probably make it look like an accident, but it is imperative that you push for a full and complete investigation so those responsible can be held accountable.

  4. So he was actually banged up in the playoffs and Olympics. Doubt it will carry much weight with the doom n gloom crowd, but I’m glad he’s healthy again.

    💙🏹 Go Nuggets!

  5. The problem is his constancy and pay. He is paid too much to show up for 1/3 or 1/4 of the games.

  6. Last night was very good.

Can he continue to do it regularly? Hopefully.

If yes, then he is well deserving of his contract.

    If no, then he’s overpaid.

Hopefully he just had a slow start to the season.

  7. What if he went to the MMA event to unwind and maybe learn how to deal with pressure from some of those guys? Reminds me of Lewis Hamilton and how he was allowed to destress in his own way. Of course, it comes with performance expectations, but I’m hopeful

  8. It’s a relief to hear him address his own struggles. Seems like he’s always been a bit of a head case, so it’s good to hear that he thinks the problems are mental and he believes he’ll get over it. Stoked to see how he bounces back from the slump, 4th quarter flurries are incoming. Fully believe Jamal is more likely to have a ’20/’23 playoff performance than a ’24

  9. Jamal plays bad

“This lazy bum with no work ethic stole 200 million from Kroenke’

Jamal plays good all of a sudden he’s a star again.

It’s almost like small sample size reactions are useless

  10. We all know how it goes. Out of 5 games there will be 1 good game, 1 meh game and 3 stinkers, rinse and repeat.

  11. No. He will go back to pumpkin Murray and put up a couple 13-16 pt games. Then sprinkle a 26pt game then 9pt. He is so inconsistent it’s maddening. Jokic deserves to have a running mate that CAN show up every game

  12. What we need in this sub is a Kia Jamal Murray’s Contract Rating Ladder. It should rank active NBA point guards who were available this summer and possibly those via trade last season. They should be ranked by points, mpg, fg %, and various efficiency measurements. My hypothesis is that Murray would be ar the top.

Is there a designated sub nerd who could do this?

  13. We just need Jamal to be Jamal, and he was himself last night. We’re paying him for the player that he is, not the player we want him to be.

He and Jokic are still the best duo in the NBA by the numbers
