Ahh glad the winning streak is over. I missed how reactionary this place gets during losses. So much more entertaining.
We lost, so that means everyone’s gonna get fired, everyone sucks, nothing we did on the W streak is real, we were supposed to finish the season on a 67 game winning streak and never have another bad night again
Why is Cory Joseph on this team?
clippers defense i kneel……
That was some of the worst half court offense I’ve seen in my life. Also kcp needs to take two weeks off and figure out if he still wants to be an nba player
Gonna cry myself to sleep with my Paolo Pillow Pal
Worst game of the season so far to me..
Well, got it’s an outline.
“Hope” I mean
KCPoop
Tough game. Blame it on the broadcast going out in the 3rd quarter and the audio being fucked up.
On the real, clippers had a good game plan. Crowd the paint and make us shoot. Really need the likes of Gary, Jalen, or Jett to get going in a game like this… or when’s he’s back, someone like Paolo who can get a bucket when the offense gets sticky. These 2 back2back games were always gonna be tough. Need a boogie night out if franz tomorrow.
The refs were ass tonight, but ultimately this loss still falls in the guys. Gotta hit wide open shots. The Clippers gave our guys a taste of their own medicine with physical defense, and nobody could step up and make them pay.
Also, Mose got out coached tonight. The Clippers were throwing a double on Franz every time and sending extra help, and not a single play was drawn up to exploit that. I know Franz didn’t score a lot, but I don’t think he played that poorly. Nobody else took advantage of the attention he was drawing. That’s a systemic failure.
Franz boogie finally had a meh game, but he’ll be alright
for all yall wanting to know what kennys problem is
its his hair

23% from 3 point range hurts to watch. A fair few wiiiiiide open too.
It’s hard to imagine a more pointless, shortsighted, and utterly confounding move than the Orlando Magic signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. This decision reeks of desperation, misplaced priorities, and a lack of understanding of what the franchise actually needs. It’s not just a waste of money—it’s emblematic of everything wrong with organizations that prioritize BS over genuine basketball sense. Let’s break down why this signing is a complete disaster.
1. Misaligned Fit and Redundant Skillset
Caldwell-Pope is a solid 3-and-D guy, but let’s be real: the Magic don’t need another player in this mold. They’re trying to build a young, dynamic team with guys like Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Jalen Suggs leading the charge. Caldwell-Pope’s best years are behind him, and his skillset doesn’t elevate a team that’s looking to grow and develop. He’s a plug-and-play guy for contenders—not a building block for a franchise on the rise.
Why waste minutes and opportunities on a player who’s unlikely to be part of the team’s long-term future? Those minutes could go to Anthony Black. Signing Caldwell-Pope signals that the front office either doesn’t trust its young core or doesn’t know how to prioritize their development.
2. Overpaying for Mediocrity
You’d think after years of rebuilding, the Magic would know better than to throw good money at mediocre players, but here we are. Caldwell-Pope is fine, but he’s not worth whatever they’re paying him—not for this roster, not for this situation. You don’t overpay for a role player when your team is years away from true contention. This is like buying premium rims for a car that still doesn’t have an engine. Mismanagement of funds like this is how franchises stay stuck in mediocrity.
3. Idiotic Signing For Signing’s Sakes
Let’s be honest: this feels more like a signing for headlines than basketball reasons. “Look! We’ve signed a player with a championship pedigree!” That’s great, but Caldwell-Pope wasn’t the reason the Lakers or Nuggets won titles—he was along for the ride. His championship resume is a hollow talking point that adds zero value to a team like the Magic. Nobody’s buying tickets or jerseys because KCP is on the roster. He’s not moving the needle on or off the court.
If this was about veteran leadership, there were far better, cheaper options out there. Caldwell-Pope doesn’t scream “mentor” or “locker room guy.” He screams “scrub.”
4. Blocking Progress
The biggest sin of this signing is how it blocks younger players from stepping up. The Magic already have depth at the wing position, and this signing clogs the rotation even further. How is Jett Howard supposed to find meaningful minutes? What about Tristan Da Silva? Adding Caldwell-Pope means someone gets pushed further down the depth chart, and for what? The team is stuck in neutral when it should be fostering growth.
5. A Waste of Money and a Roster Spot
If Caldwell-Pope was signed to bolster the team’s shooting or defensive versatility, it’s pure crap. His contributions aren’t worth the cost or the lost flexibility. His presence on the roster also means the Magic can’t make a meaningful trade or sign a player who might actually move the needle. Every roster spot is precious, and wasting one on Caldwell-Pope is a clear sign the front office lacks vision.
Conclusion: Cut the Losses Now
The Magic need to waive Kentavious Caldwell-Pope immediately. Let him go and reclaim the roster spot for someone who aligns with the team’s goals. It’s about understanding that he’s a bad fit for this team, at this time, for this price. The front office needs to stop making moves for the sake of appearances and focus on building something sustainable. This signing is an idiotic move, plain and simple, and the sooner the team rectifies it, the better.
Insanely out rebounded and also couldn’t hit 3s. Move on to the next
Clips played better at home and we were due a stinker. I just want to get through this stupid West Coast trip and get back home for Saturdays game.
We’ve won games with bad shooting before. Our bigs got punked on rebounding tonight. We were tops in the league in allowing second chance points and defensive rebounding percentages. May or may not be anymore.
The FO might have to pull the plug on the KCP signing and find a way to get rid of him by the deadline. I just don’t see how he can possibly stay here when we are once again the worst 3 point shooting team in the league. Just in a really terrible position due to how washed he looks.
Reminder KCP was picked up to play defense, if our shooters made half their threes we win (Jett, Franz)
Can’t win them all. Beat LA tomorrow.
KCP vs KPJ
SMH
KCP is shooting 20% welt overpaid for mid i wasn’t a fan of the signing we should’ve went after a PG .
Tough loss, but good fight. This Paolo-less team came in as underdogs. We didn’t expect them to win a lot, but they gave us a streak with some records and a nice standing. Franz showed us again he’s a real deal. Goga was allowed to play, revealing opportunities we might be missing. We saw some growth with our freshmen. AB seems to be getting more comfortable getting in charge and owning his game. TDS getting playtime and revealing great potential. Howard showing his quick release showing potential as well. As I cornily quote papa johns, better ingredients, better pizza.
Now I’m just hoping they don’t end up going on a losing streak and just keep getting better. Then Paolo’s comeback will be the icing.
Defense played well enough to win. But the rebounding and offense was obviously terrible. We just got out dawged tonight.
There was no point in this game where it ever felt like we got going. They clamped Franz very well, seemed to hit every three they shot and probably should have blown us out. The fact they didn’t shows how good our defense is. No team wins them all and we definitely can’t win them all without Paolo.
What an annoying game to watch I don’t know if our shorting problem can ever be fixed without a huge makeover in personnel, but I realize we just came off a 6 win streak so I can’t get too mad I guess
This game was the definition of an all around disappointing performance
The hate for KCP is unreal in here. He was a great signing, period.
Our FO don’t have the balls to go after big signings.
Sure he is playing like ass right now but he can turn it up later.
Why is Da Silva not playing 4th quarters of every game? Thought he was playing good with lots of energy on off and def
Good game from AB apart from the turnovers. Love to see him playing with confidence.
Otherwise rough night, onto the Lakers.
AB has to start for the foreseeable future.
He is the only player who has shown to be able to exploit the spaces that the opposing attention on Franz create.
Franz was in constant double coverage the moment he stepped over the half line with one directly on him and one behind the play. He tried to cut past twice early in these situations, had to pivot hard on the second defender and lost the handle in the process. He had like maybe 5 situations with some breathing room, turned these in two successful drives and the miss on his sole open three. Everything else was contested and the Clips got away with that approach, limiting him to only 10 proper shots.
His other numbers were good, six dimes, four (!) steals and six boards.
Speaking of boards: How the fuck was the player that should usually be the first one running on the fast break the only guy with a respectable amount of rebounds? Part of it was Zubac just playing well, but a lot of it also was just lack of effort and boxing out.
They need to put more work in here, otherwise the Clips just handed the league a blue print to neuter us: put two bodies on Franz at all times and crash the boards hard to cruise to comfortable wins.
if yall want to feel better just go take a gander in r/pacers
**24 – 49 Rebounds?!?!**? … WTF … i cant remember to have ever seen such a lopsided statistic. Thats the game right there. Everything else is almost meaningless
Tough road game, good gameplan by the clippers, solid defence by the magic to hang in there, 3point shot did not fall, not surprising, it happens move on. … those rebound problems though … inexcusable.
on the bright side … to “Only” lose by 11 while the other team litterally has more then DOUBLE the rebounds and DOUBLE 3 point efficiency … absolutly wild.
I like NBA very much
6! rebounds by our bigs combined (Goga, Mo, Isaac) in 59 min of playing time.
Paging Collin Sexton…
Could tell immediately we weren’t going to win with how they were beating us on the boards
