Bruins Fire Montgomery, Name Sacco as Interim Replacement
Well, this is a choice. I still don’t see this as a playoff team.

It's called, the end of an era. It's rebuild time in Boston. Amazing that anyone would think a team can skip the rebuild phase. You lost some marquee players over the past few years in Boston, and others are in their twilight years.
If anything, they were overachieving last year. This year here, is the real Boston Bruins.
This roster is looking old and tired, probably squeezed as much magic as possible out of them over the last two years. Time to rebuild the bear.
thanks for this vid. short-sighted decision
Penguins fans, there you go! Oh wait continue to ride Mike Sullivan. He is the answer.
Yup.This is pain. Give them a season or two and they'll be back. Gotta move on from Sweeney. We just lost a solid coach and it's Sweeny's fault
Let's go, Yzerman!
Lindolhm did play a season with Monahan in 2018-2019, as right wing and Gaudreau on the Left. He scored at about a PPG pace.
Sounds like the Canucks, our sympathy.
Bring back Iron Mike Keenan
It's everyone's fault except the old boy Bruins running the show, obviously.
Bruins in shambles??
Id love to see what Poitras looks like between Pasta and Zacha, I think he's going to mature into a Krejci like player. He's great with the puck and is a facilitator.
Throw Lindholm between Marshy and Johnson and let them find their games together.
Move Coyle back to the third line between Frederick and Geekie/Merk
Reassemble the 4th line from the start of the year and turn them loose.
Scape goal monteal take him
Sacco was a dumpster fire in Colorado, so idk how much an improvement he is going to be :')
to any boston fan, do you ever take a zadorov, for heinen and soucy/ desharnais trade
Don Sweeney didn't replace key pieces when he needed to and now Montgomery pays the price. There's no question that the real problem is the roster management. This surely has to be Sweeney's last chance.
taking firing sweeny off the table is not fair. maybe Marchand needs to lick them all? or at least threaten to?
Another coach becomes the scapegoat of management. Fire the driver because he isn't winning the race with a Hyundai Sonata.
Rough offseason from Sweeney. But I can't blame everything on Sweeney. Monty seems incapable of adjusting his coaching to match his current team so it doesn't make sense to keep him. He even went on TV to say he had no answers which basically was admitting defeat. Sure, you could wait until next year to fire him. But at this point, fire him and then move towards selling if nothing changes.
don sweeney signed wrong players. lindholm and zadorov are not good enough. simple
this team cant be fixed anymore. in the summer it was still possible but thanks to bad moves its gone.
mcavoy has never been that guy. krug was that guy. sweeney has not done any good for the future.
i work in tourism in boston, and it used to be that i never had to check the Bs schedule, i just would see when there were lots of people wearing bruins gear. either the bruins haven’t had a home game in at least two weeks, or nobody wants to go see our disappointing team
Coaches always pay for poor decisions made above them. Some coaching changes need to happen but this one’s just a move to make a move. La de da.
He is a good coach, but as a Dallas Stars fan, I don’t feel badly for him. He let the Stars down badly by engaging in some personal misconduct that forced the team to force him out. We still don’t know what it was, to the Stars’ credit, but he let us down.
Is he Bald?
Joe Sacco is… An interesting choice. Granted it was 10 years ago, but his time in Colorado was temulteous at best.
Wouldn't mind seeing Montgomery coaching the wings…
I'm a longtime Bruins fan and am sorry to see Monty made the scapegoat for this train wreck. Paying Swagman all that money was a mistake. Thank you Hockey Guy for always bringing intelligent, thoughtful analysis of all things hockey.
Asked Shannon on Hawks video why he says Richardson isn't supposed to juggle lines but here he says what was Montgomery supposed to do but juggle lines?
The front office didn't exactly supply good ingredients…For starters….they got next to nothing in return for a Vezina winning goalie. Didn't keep winners like Bertuzzi and Debrusk. And so on.
Sweeney is a terrible GM and should be fired
Orrr sway takes way less money and the can sign these people they needed. Its really simple. The downfall of these diva goalies is so satisfying. Igor and swayman downfall begins boys.
I think if “let me know your thoughts, hit like and subscribe” was the drinking “word“ for the video, I’d be plastered about now. 😅😆
Its more than a lack of talent. I watched the entire 96-97 bruins season. I pushed through the pain while they finished dead last. That team was easier to watch than this team, because they tried. They were often outmatched and under talented but still put in far more effort than this team ever does.
Get ready for the scraps of the locker room to show face. They’ll be picked apart soon enough
