The scariest part of this Celtics team is ______? | NBA Today

I’m joined by Chiney Ogwumike, Kendrick Perkins and Brian Windhorst on NBA Today to debate what the scariest part of the Boston Celtics is after the champs gave the Cleveland Cavaliers their first loss of the season. I also spoke with Shams Charania about the health of Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal before the panel reacts to Hornets coach Charles Lee benching LaMelo Ball in the final minutes of Charlotte’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

  1. Nothing, they aren't scary. They barely got by my Cavs last night with 3 guys out and a poor shooting Garland. 3 point win they got by just barely smh

  2. Are you serious?
Boston barely won by 3 points while playing their best basketball, and the Cavs weren’t even at full strength. They were missing three key rotation players—the ones who would’ve been guarding Tatum and Brown.

Yet, Cleveland’s third-string bench still outplayed Boston! It’s hilarious because the Cavs had their deepest backups on the floor and still held their own.

I can’t wait to see what happens when the Cavs face Boston in Cleveland. Big credit to Kenny for building such a strong bench. Merritt, Porter, and Jerome—third-stringers—dominated the Celtics. Just imagine what the full squad will do!

If you don’t see what Kenny’s doing, you’re missing it. Getting the bench ready for high-level games now means he’s cooking up something serious for Boston. I see it already based on who he started!

  3. For me it’s that Tatum and Brown are just entering their prime. 26 and 27 years old. So their trajectory will be going up over the next 4-5 years. That’s a scary thought.

  4. all of these should literally just say KP because that's the scariest part is that without him they are a contender, with him they are a contender heavy favorite

  5. Irrespective of Celtics current standing I would still try to trade Kornet and try to get Jonas Val by Feb trade deadline to strengthen the 5. JV is on a team friendly contract and he can be locked up for the next 2 seasons and as Al is on his last season JV will serve well for the next 2 seasons . Wiz are going to unload him in Jan-Feb and Lakers & Warriors are going to go hard after him, better he plays for the Celtics than your opponent in the finals.

  6. The scariest part of this team is the youth of their superstars. They are the 9th oldest team but bc of one Al Horford who’ll be 39 by end of season. And if you took him and a 34yr old Holiday off the roster they’d be one of the youngest. Great mix of youth and experience on this team.

  7. They are not even playing to their fullest potential. Jaylen Brown missed 4 or 5 games. KP hasn't suited up yet. Imagine what would happen when these guys finally go back to their championship form last year. It's gonna be back2back
