Schefter on Kevin Stefanski earlier today “There’s a lot of people making noise about Kevin Stefanski being on the hot seat and I don’t quite understand it … my understanding is…despite all the noise about the Browns potentially making a coaching change. Not happening

  1. Firing Stefanski would make this awful season so much worse

Look at the Ravens and Steelers, consistency (once you’ve found talent) is part of being successful

  2. We shouldn’t.

    But man…

This ownership team doesn’t inspire confidence.

    It’s obvious. It’s not Kevin’s fault.

This team was either going to live or die with the cancer that was Deshaun Watson.

    He sucked. He got hurt.

This is the aftermath, but that’s not on Kevin

  3. We gave Hue a mulligan for 0-16 after going 1-15

If we can’t do that for a guy voted best at his job twice in 4 years….

Now next year will there be some heat if we start slow? Absolutely

But this year has been a symphony of errors

Injury after injury and having a guy that 3 years ago half the league was trying to acquire becoming one of the worst QBs in modern league history

    Ya he gets a pass

  4. Excellent. It’s a lost year, but Stefanski should be near the bottom of the list in terms of needed changes. Berry on the other hand, it might be time.

  5. Firing Stefanski before firing Berry would be an all time stupid move. As would firing him before finally moving off Watson.

  6. I mean of course. I keep saying it though. Weird things happen when you win 1,2,3 games. Emotions get involved. Gonna need to win a couple to feel ok about this.

  7. Whoever made the most noise for trading for Watson gots to go. AB probably needs to go as well as most of his draft picks have been terrible. Kevin gets 1 more year.

  8. Shelter hates the Browns and anything from Ohio, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this is an intentionally false report so that Browns fans flip the fuck out if Stefanski is fired.

  9. I think if you’re still on the hook for Watson’s contract for 2 years either way, it doesn’t make much sense to fire the Coach/GM combo that won 2 coach of the years and 2 playoff appearances in 4 years. You probably give them a year or two to navigate the cap hit and see if they can successfully rebuild the roster with young talent. If they can’t do that, then you just clean house and move on, with the new coach/GM two years from now having a clean balance sheet to work with.

  10. Schefter should understand that the Browns organization as of late does not make decisions based on logic, but on drastic emotional swings

  11. If they don’t fire Kevin he needs to be prepared to make big changes. He needs to sit down with what’s left of the team and let them know things are going to be run differently next off season. This soft as baby shit off season program experiment, has failed and its time to actually get in football shape before week 5 of the regular season. They are the most Injured and unprepared team year after year and that does come down to coaching. The best QB in the League plays in the pre season and that team just LOST their first game.

Second, AB can’t draft. I understand having a wiz kid at the GM level to manage the intricacies and nuances of the modern NFL contracts but he needs major help evaluating talent beyond analytics he is clearly Deposestas guy.

    *Speaking of*

Paul Deposesta and his overly analytical approach has not been shown to work in professional football and frankly I think most of it falls on him, unfortunately I assume him and Haslam are pretty close so unfortunately, he is staying

  12. Knowing This team I wouldn’t be surprised if shit ownership did the complete wrong decision

  13. Im okay with one person getting a mulligan not the whole group though , the anger is palatable you can’t run this season from hell group back in 2025. Fire depodesta and Berry and put Kevin on a very very short leash

  14. If he goes, then I’m out. This will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Incompetent ownership is something we’ve dealt with long enough as fans. The Haslams already need their heads checked, throw this on the pile and I don’t see Cleveland being particularly safe for them.

  15. fuck browns media Kevin is the best coach we’ve had in recent history. the team is banged up and not that good that’s not his fault lol

  16. What sucks is that Berry is going to get fired this year, and whatever GM they get to replace him will somehow not gel with KS and will fire him next season if the team isn’t playoff bound.

  17. Everybody saying Berry should go, IMO, at the very least, they should keep Berry through seeing out the Watson contract. Maybe see if he can dig out of that deep hole with whatever plan he has for it.

I don’t think it’s very fair to bring in a new GM, with no knowledge of how these contracts were planned out, to navigate them and try to build around it. It’s like tying one hand behind his back. That new GM is basically just set up to fail. I think a new GM would more likely make things with that contract worse than better.

I’m sure when Watson was signed, Berry/depo/the whole gang have a plan for what to do with the Watson contract if things went south like it is. They have a better idea on how to navigate it then whoever would be brought in. I say keep Berry, at minimum, through the contract’s length, and see where things fall.

  18. I don’t think Stef is the one in real trouble right now. AB however? Yeah I think his seat is scorching right now

  19. I’d rather keep Kev and fire AB if I’m looking at track record. AB has made solid trades but drafting has been kinda meh.

Kev has won with crappy QBs and injury laden teams. Not saying his seat is cold but it shouldn’t be hot either.

  20. Love the Browns fans wanting Stefanski to be replace with Vrabel.

The Ohio State lovefest that engulfs Cleveland sports fans never fails.

  21. Two 11 win seasons and two playoff berths. How many 11 win seasons prior since 99??? ZERO. Nun. Nadia. Nill. Get off the guys back.

  22. Fire Watson . Usually you get rid of the problem not someone who has recently proven to be at least above average at their job.
