  1. let me explain, again.

    1. dubas had no plan. He just traded to try to put good players on the team but had no overall vision and no idea that ek would destroy the D, nevermind gryzlik. the BEST defender came from WS.

    2. FSG were like , jeesh, this isn't working. go for youth.

    3. dubas starts trading players away.

So, Sullivan will go at the end of the year. Dubas will be gone in 2-3 years. (after the new coach can also not pick this team full of the wrong players up off their ass)

  2. DK, you seem to say that Sully is not playing his players correctly. If this is true, is it time to sit down and discuss his future? I have always liked him, but it is clear he has lost the locker room and cannot get more out of his squad as he’s playing/teaching them.

  3. Good morning, DK. Victor from Langley City, BC Canada 🇨🇦 here coming to you from the Mayan this time. Great show, as always, although what I noticed, and clearly you meant to say it, was how many times you mentioned Dubas needing to have a discussion with Sully. Now, let's be frank… Sully is known to sit young players and 3rd 4th liners. Ok, fine and dandy BUT, like you said, when there are players playing with more heart than the "elites" of the team, you give those other guys minutes, plain and simple! Man, they're not playing for him DK, just my humble opinion. Blessings to you

  4. We always hear that " we dress the players that give us the best chance to win" and they still dress grezlcyk. Graves has been better than grezlcyk but graves is eating preebox nachos. I don't like either player for this team but the decisions made regarding the line up at times are baffling. Sully puts leashes on players who can help and have youth and upside and then gives promotions to those who have proven time and time again they aren't good players. I'm tired of hearing one thing and seeing another. It is just bad for trust and business.

  5. The only thing the players think is I can’t wait for payday! Because none of them are worth what they are getting paid! Fire them all or reduce their pay! That would get their attention!!

  6. You forgot to mention Dubas was the one that brought in the pylon that is Erik Karlsson for almost $11 million. That’s one of, if not the biggest mistakes he’s made so far.

  7. The "Something bigger needs to come into play" should have happened last year , coach should of been gone then.
His system is a rag , he lost locker room & he won't even use young talent to play it too this day.
Bottom line , no positive will take place till Sullivan is gone.
Why that's so hard to see for some is mind blowing!

  8. If they aren't firing Sully, then this has been the plan all along behind the scenes. The big 3 got resigned and once that happened I think they knew it was gonna be a few mediocre years until they retire so keep the steady voice of Sully and ride it out. Bring in a new coach when the new roster shapes

  9. There has been no accountabilty on this team. The players that are under performing get more ice time, more opportunity, while players that are going remain buried. On this team Sullivan has his favorites and plays them no matter what, and he picks escape goats, always has. The team has had some real good players that we watched their seasons die next to Jeff Carter, but they were the problem, Carter never was. There were seasons where Rust was ice cold, like most of last season…..and he didn't lose a minute off the top two lines, surprisingly was pulled off the worst PP in the league for a brief period. Even right now, with Letang coming back, who gets benched, Pickering, Shae? It should be Grzelyck! I definitely agree we are not seeing Jesse and Drew getting enough time on ice, right about now, I'd lean to Jesse playing with Sid and Rakkel. But as the loses mount up, there will be little to no changes, Grzelyck will get his 20 minutes, lines 1 and 2 will remain despite both being luke warm. The definition of insane is doing the exact same thing over and over and expecting a different result. This is something Sullivan can do, make on ice changes and he hardly ever does. As for Dubas, he's as harmful to this team as Hextall ever was!

  10. Seems like Gryzlyk (sp?) has become the Jeff Carter scapegoat of the 2024-25 season. I think I know why he is getting the ice team and 2.75 really isnt much money. The Pens have way bigger fish to fry. There is talk of a Pettersson (sp?) trade..I;m in favor of that. He has value to other teams and can fetch a lot…It is hard to imagine that any trade would make the Pens play worse D than they already do

  11. I agree DK. If they want to win now, go get some real defensemen. offering up everyone but Sid, I say keep what you have and get what you need. I understand it's not that simple but , it must be done. Great show DK

  12. J1Q Bill:my homie Sid has two failings apparent since his junior days;(1) he is loyal, and will never denigrate a coach, genl mgr ;(2)he is uber competitive and his optics are all knowing.Outcome,he's no help in ushering Sullivan,Dubas to exit ramps. What should happen IMO is no more "trial"/"guinea pig"runs for these two.Cut losses; Probation Period is up. Fenway Group spoiler alert:they dont do hockey!

  13. They didn’t have a choice with Jarry, he had hit free agency if you recall…..the few free agent goalies had signed elsewhere and all in the first few hours. They didn’t have a starting goalie or a ton of cap room, they didn’t have a choice but to sign him.

Eller was a good signing and with Karlsson, he was coming off a Norris Trophy campaign and they dumped all those horrible contracts at the same time.

You always slam Dubas and call out his faults yet you don’t ever have an opinion on what they coulda/shoulda done instead.

You ever think the coach might be the problem? Puljujarvi is playing out of his mind? 😂 He’s playing better this past week but was pretty quiet the previous weeks. He’s a third line player and that’s what he’s getting for playing time. He isn’t great in his own end either.
Dubas signed him, that probably doesn’t count though right?
Dubas has been here for a year and a half ffs, you idiots not realize he isn’t going to fix everything right away? This is gonna take 4-5 years to turn around.

How do you even have a program? Probably why you only get a few hundred views per episode.

  14. It's time for the conversation to switch to Dubas from Sully. Use the Caps as the argument. The Caps are in 1st in the Metro.
Caps: 18GP: 13W-4L-1OT and a +28 Goal Differential +28 is 2nd overall in the league
Pens: 21GP: 7W-10L-4OT and a -26 Goal Differential -26 is worst in the league (-21: Sharks is 2nd in the league)
The Blue Jackets have played only 18 games and only have 2 less points than the Pens at 16 points and a -4 Goal Differential.
Pens are 1st in Goals against with 83. The Sharks are 2nd at 71. The Caps are 7th at 50.
To bad Ovechkin got hurt because the Caps were a DUBAS REVELATION. Dubas destroyed the end of 87 and 71's careers. Dubas brought in all garbage players. It is obvious Dubas can't do player or coach evaluations. Dubas' crap free agents and moves: Ryan Graves, Matt Grzylek, Erik Karlsson, and signing Jarry. COMPARE THAT TO THE CAPS GM. Dylan Strome, Rasmus Sandin, Jakob Chychrun, Vrana, Charlie Lindgren, and Logan Thompson. Not to mention before Dubas in 2019 The Caps drafted Connor McMichael in the 1st round 25th overall while the Pens drafted Sam Poulin 1st round 21st overall. Caps also got Aliaksei Protas in the 3rd round in 2019. Connor McMichael: 18GP/12G/7A/19Pts, Protas: 18GP/7G/11A/18Pts while Poulin has 10 career games and 2 points.
The Washington Capitals "fired" Peter Laviolette as their head coach and subsequently hired Spencer Carbery to replace him on May 30, 2023; making Carbery the new head coach of the team. PENS HAVE MARRIED SULLIVAN because they can't do coach evaluations and have no idea how to hire a coach. That's obvious. Nobody cares that Dubas just like in Toronto made all bad moves. Graves, EK65, and Jarry SUCK. Dubas wasted the end of Crosby and Geno's careers. He signed Graves = YIKES!!!!

  15. The sad thing about Dubas is that while he didn't inherit a great situation thanks to Hextall … and btw very few new GM's take over a good situation … he did come into a situation where he would've had a ton of cap flexibility if he had just been patient and had a 2-3 plan in place. The Pens had several bad contracts (Carter, Granlund, Petry, etc.), but they were all coming off the board in two years or less. But Dubas put himself in cap hell for another 3-5 years with reckless spending on poor trades (Karlsson and Hayes) and poor acquisitions (Graves and Grzelyck) and poor contracts (Jarry). And then couldn't extend the most valuable player he lost … Guentzel.

  16. I miss the Mario/Burkle ownership. Is Dubas really Sullivan's boss? It seems like the Boston Corporate Conglomerate loves Sullivan. Any other coach in the NHL would've been long gone by now. Sullivan is a great coach for a talented team. But his square peg/round hole approach has grown utterly redundant.

  17. Sullivan is too comfortable. The penguins haven’t been able to hold a lead the last 3 seasons. And the only constant is Sullivan. His system isn’t about defending. It’s about attacking blocking shots and blocking passes. These players just aren’t smart enough to play that way. Sullivan doesn’t have to play Eric Karlson on every PowerPlay. I’m not sure why the coach is in love with him. It would be hard to be a player on that team and have the same player make mistake after mistake and never see that player sit a game or even a shift. The ownership group needs to wake up and dump Mike Sullivan, his time is up
