[OptaSTATS] Shohei Ohtani has three unanimous MVP awards in the last four years. No other player in MLB/NBA/NFL/NHL history has more than one in his entire career.

  1. Dude is a starting pitcher winning unanimous MVP in a year where he didn’t pitch a single inning. GOAT

  2. Haters who say Ohtani only gets MVPs because he’s decent at both hitting and pitching in complete shambles.

  3. just really lucky to be living in this generation to witness this. Even the players witness fans really just going to the games for this guy 😆

  4. Dear Angels; how in the royal purple fuck did your management spectacularly piss away a talent like Shohei?

  5. I mean, the other leagues only have one MVP. If they had two, you can bet LeBron (eastern conference) and Brady (AFC) would’ve both had many unanimous ones.

Shohei wouldn’t have been unanimous this year if he played in the same league as Judge

  6. I’m surprised Wayne Gretzky isn’t part of this list. He had some really dominant seasons in the 80s that you would think are unanimous worthy. Particularly any of the four seasons where he scored over 200 points since no one else in NHL history has a 200 point season.

  7. I think it’s important to note how much easier it is to win when you’re competing against players from 15 teams instead of the entire sport

  8. Im half expecting this guy immediately after he retires to pull off his human mask and reveal that he is a unicorn, before ascending into the spirit realm

  9. Imagine telling someone twenty years ago that the first DH to win MVP would win it unanimously. Then tell them that he’d do it in the NL. Then tell them that he’d also have a top five Cy Young finish.
