[Jarret DeHart] I’m excited to announce that I’ll be joining the Yankees as their Director of Hitting. Couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to wear the pinstripes!

  1. Congratulations to the guy who’s now responsible for not preventing every strikeout the Yankees will have this season!

  2. Does not sound exciting at the onset. Don’t want really that many people associated with the Mariners offense except Julio lol

  3. How many hitting coaches are they going to hire before they recognize there’s an organizational issue?

  4. Maybe instead, don’t have a director of hitting and let the players know what works for them and a good hitting coach that doesn’t screw with their approach at the plate.

  5. The mariners are awful.

IMO at least a chunk of the blame is bad “raw materials” (players) but regardless, the mariners offense is pathetic.

The lineup not being plucky is the exact difference as to why the mariners aren’t the Guardians

  6. we got our hitting coach from the tigers and our hitting director from the mariners, what could go wrong

  7. “Cut! This is all wrong! Where’s the emotion? You’re down 3 runs with runners on and you hit a grounder to 2nd base? Nope! Do it again. Reset, everyone!”

Umpire: He’s the director, what he says goes. Play ball!

  8. Is he going to emphasize putting the ball in play? Because we’ve seen a decade of home run or strike out, and haven’t seen any rings, maybe we need to do something new?
