  2. Idk if Gibson is the solution, at this point they should find someone from the middle or Russia cause for some reason they’re built different. I wonder though about the trade deadline who is safe, like could we even see Nuge moved if his game continues to be stagnant.

  7. 4 starters Edmonton was missing 3 key players when they played Minnesota. A team with a dman that could help us might be in the islanders line up. When it comes to goalies don't hate me 4 saying this but vladar out of Calgary or one of the San Jose goalies might be the fix the team is looking 4

  11. Absolutely no to Gibson.
    I've noticed in the wild game that bouchard and Stetcher got our muscled in front of the net. That has to change for Bouchard and we need a Rd that can clear the front of the net as Folingo's line had their way with us due to their size and work ethic. Josh Brown has been much better than he was in preseason but he's not a top four answer. Honestly I'm not sure which RD we can get as the assets to acquire might be more than we have.

  12. Hi Patrick and all Oilers from Germany again. I am on your side with everything you said, but wanna ask same questions which will let you see my thoughts and fears.
    Why is the slot in front of our goal not defendable?
    Why does Bouchard playing like a basketball defender in front of our goal?
    Why do so many players have enormous problems with their stick and puck control?
    Why do players who were great last season play in ghost mode?
    What is the reason for the game to game line correction from the HC?
    Why is this team unable to hold a lead for the victory?
    I will stop now, not that I don't have more questions, only because it is here 4am now, and I hadn't sleep yet. I think it is a intern problem not only a team problem. Means, perhaps you have to make a large cut now, trading Hyman and Bouchard, perhaps RNH too, to bring this situation in a trainable team force. May be, otherwise definitely no playoffs next year from my point of view. Cheers to everybody, looking forward to next game, also hoping that I could support my team on TV live! Feel very sad…

  15. No, goalies arent voodoo. They have talent, and thats what matters. They have ups and downs like any player. If you believe that goalies are voodoo then you should be happy to keep Skinner.

  16. Skinner is a liability. Idgaf how anyone slices it. We've all seen enough to know his capabilities, and lack thereof.

    Defense is most certainly weaker than last year's, and it really wasn't all that strong last year. Ekholm is a year closer to retirement, and it's safe to say, his best years, are behind him. That's not a shot at Ekholm, as he's still solid, but the days of him going beast mode as a defenseman, are over.

    This team needs a proper and vetted number one goalie, and at least one, solid, defensive specialist, moderate-to-high minute defenseman, at the very least.

    Until then, well, they'll keep trying to outscore their problems, and post the numbers we've seen them post. It's incredible how this teams PP and PK, were nothing short of majestic the last couple years, and this year……….. good God. 😬

  18. A day late and a dollar short……Hell No! Gibby is past his prime……no better than what they already have. History will say the McDavid era in Edmonton was possibly the most mismanaged team in the last 50 years.

  21. Skinner is just too streaky to be relied upon as a 1A, and in my opinion, he isn't capable of stealing any games for us. I would welcome Blackwood, not too sure on Gibson though.

  28. The is management team and Knobs are really stubborn like Woodcroft. You know what, go ahead and keep Skinner. Upgrade the D. It still won’t matter because when we need a save, Skinner won’t be stopping it.

  30. Oil need to stay far far FAR away from Gibson. Campbell 2.0, Pickard is honestly better at a much cheaper price. I'd play Aaron dell before considering Gibson.

    Dustin Schwartz needs to be canned too. Seriously.

  35. Defense and goalies playing terrible. PP is the same plays and other teams have learned to counter it. If the current level of play remains the team will be sellers not buyers at the trade deadline. Swartz still employed after so many goalies can’t be a coincidence. KK or anyone not 29 or 97 are not playing well enough. 5 day training camp needed to learn how to play. Keep the faith and thanks for the update.

  39. No panic yet, they’re only 4pts behind 1st in the division. They getting out muscled so I’d lean towards getting bigger and tougher which we’ll need anyways for the playoffs.

  42. Last year all the problems were caused by Cody Ceci. This year it's Skinner. With the usual exception of the Dynamic Duo the whole team is struggling. It's all on management. Arvidsson and Jeff Skinner are struggling. History said that they would good additions to the team. It hasn't worked out that way. Management can't be blamed for that. Problem is the players management let go especially the ones for which we received nothing in return. We all know who those players are. Young players with speed and ability. They played great for us in the playoffs. Sure would be great to have them back. There are huge holes in our lineup where they used to be. Did that forward play well with Draisaitl? Yes. Now Draisaitl has no one help him. Would that defenseman excellently fill that gaping hole on defense? Absolutely. It's all on management or should I say mismanagement. Why is it always the coach who gets fired? Maybe it should be the CEO and GM who should be looking for new jobs. Of course, that won't happen and we're stuck with what at times is a shit show. The magic is gone. Oil Country is rightly pissed off. Time to get the pitchforks out, light the torches and head down to Rogers Place to demand a change in management. Maybe the fans could go on strike and picket outside Rogers Place until changes are made. Create a fans union. Hire the Three Stooges! Pick a fan out of the stands and give the job to him/her! Can't do worse. Team is within a couple of points of first place? Shows you how bad the Pacific Division is.

  43. Considering you have 2 top 4 defensemen right now and a team not playing in all zones as a team, you need everyone from front to back. You can’t get scored on with a top line that has two of the best players in the world and the whole team isn’t playing team defense. They need a top 4 right shot defenseman that can move the puck and power play needs everyone to shoot when they have a look. It’s not, let’s get it to Leon power play.

  44. Patrick what do you think of us maybe getting Vanacek or Blackwood from the sharks to player a 1A/1B type system with Stuart Skinner. I'd assume the sharks would be open to trading one or both of them considering they're both pending UFA's and Askarov just getting called up
